IT HAS BEEN COMPLETED!!!

Every single thread in this is my own handspun!
Almost exactly half of the weft is from my friends sheep, Ms. Dolly.
The tail ends are woven in.
Still have to fix the tassels and wet finish it, but I can do that later.
It is literally the perfect length for a scarf, and that makes me so happy because there was zero measuring for how long it was going to be.

Working on my first homespun project.
Now it is very important to note that I have NEVER woven on a loom like this, ever. This is my first time. Also the last time I did any weaving was in elementary school, on a cardboard sheet with a tapestry needle. So this is entirely new to me.
I have watched more tutorials than I care to recount, and have spent many hours teetering on the edge of not attempting this. But I finally did it.
Every single thread in this is by me. Every. Single. One.
Most of these threads are a single ply. The only thing holding them together is a little bit of twist. Some of these are wheel spun, most of these are spindle spun. Some of them were spun on my ancient era whorl.
The orange is from when I made my daughters socks. The green ply is from my sons socks. That yard is 3 ply/chain ply. Some of the green is from his hat which was a single on one of my great wheels.
The literal white thread in the last few photos is off that roman whorl and the fiber came from my friends sheep.
Did I think this through?
No. I have run out of handspun yarns and am down to threads. The time space continuum must have a rift cuz no way that can be true, yet somehow it is.
Have I got another project idea brewing in the back of my mind?
Yes. Several. One of them will likely take several years to complete.
This piece is for me, as some of these yarns can never be recreated and their original intent is incredibly sentimental, but also it is a modge podge of so many different things that I doubt any other person would ever be able to truly appreciate it.
The loom is a cricket 15 inch, and if anyone has some extra heddles to get rid of I would love to know so I can weave some twills!

Hit a new level of "cool" with my spinning today. Found a vendor selling authentic Roman spindle whorls at ren faire and of course I got one....
I went back after a quick spin on a random pine stick and gifted him some handspun . He was so excited!
After getting it back home I quickly carved up a small, albiet squiggly, spindle stick with which to spin while I find a better branch to use later.
IT DOES STILL WORK even if the stick is crooked! As long as it is smooth, and knowing that you need to keep on top of the spin more since an unbalanced spin stops faster than a balanced one.
All in all, 10/10, this is what made spinning so accesable to begin with and how it should still be now. Use what you have and do what you can.

Whorl purchased from Imperium Ancient Arts, located in Kennebunk Maine.

Not a volunteer, but certainly a suprise because I have been trying to get these to grow for several years and they never come up where I plant them.
Did you know that these flowers make good medicine and have wonderful results when used to break fever.
