A few of our herd that makes this place go around. In these photos are our rabbits that we just raised this season, and some that are our herd does etc.
At the beginning of this season we were able to go all the way down to under 10 good animals. Then from there we paired based off how the animals posed and what I felt I lacked and what buck could help in that particular animals line,
Now. We have a little around 40 heads in our rabbitry at this moment. About 20+ are growing out as we speak.
On the flip side of things, we breed normally 2 times a season. In between those times I use the time to grow out and pay closer attention to the ones I tend to show also. Unfortunately this season, the first breeding of the season went successfully producing a BOV in the process. But our second breeding we used younger bucks and had a horrible outcome of 10 does bred and 10 does didn’t take.
That being said.. this is what we have to grow out for the next season. We’re gonna give these tender love and care and try to do better on this group. Come next season it’s produce or heavy cull lol.
