I am feeling lucky today. This morning I was almost T b***d by a local carpet cleaning van at 10th & Spruce. The two men were turning left on a red light. I slammed on my brakes. It happened in an instant. The driver waved me on like he was kind of sorry & the passenger never put his phone down. I had to wonder what carpet emergency could possibly warrant such disregard for a red light at a busy intersection. Earlier this morning I had a foster dog in my truck. But thankfully I had dropped him off at the vet. Normally, at this time of ending up at a stand still in the intersection, I'd have a client's dog in my truck, my sweet Lily. I am thanking all of the dieties I can think of, that no fosters, rescues or client dogs were in my truck when I had to slam on my breaks. I wish people would slow down. Just slow down.

Now that school is back in session, my walks with sweet Lily have resumed! A pup cup is the perfect way to celebrate! ☕...

My heart is heavy tonight. Bella's Mom let me know last week that I should come see her sweet girl. I'm so thankful I was invited to see Bella. I'm not often extended the opportunity to say goodbye to pets I have spent, sometimes years, caring for. Bella & I walked around Fort Leavenworth both times her awesome humans were stationed on Post. Hold your furry kids tight, we never have them as long as we want.
