With respect to my son Brandon and his family, we haven’t made it very public with what’s going on with his little baby boy Crue’s health. But they have decided it’s time to share his story to help raise awareness that ORGAN DONORS ARE TRUE HEROES!! They save many lives every single day and sometimes it’s even little babies such as Crue.
Statement from Crue’s family:
Crue was born with a liver disease known as Biliary Atresia. After a failed corrective procedure, his disease has now unfortunately progressed into end stage liver disease which requires a liver transplant before the liver completely fails.
Below is a link to detailed view of Crue’s entire liver journey up to this point. Give it a read whenever you have a few extra minutes. We will continue to provide updates on that website for those who want to follow.
The medical field states that a liver transplant is not a cure, it’s a life long treatment. We have started a fundraiser in Crue’s honor. Through COTA, the funds are strictly dedicated to help pay for organ transplant related expenses that insurance does not cover. These funds will even help Crue to support transplant related expenses once he’s out on his own as an adult.
