This kitty was found near 1700 Mt Lincoln Dr. Sounds like he has been getting into a little bit of riff raff because he had to be trapped by Animal Control. 😺

✨🌟 VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: EMMA! 🌟✨

If you’ve stopped by the shelter lately, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen Emma hard at work!

Emma chooses to spend her high school internship program volunteering right here at the animal shelter — and we are SO lucky to have her. ❤️

She shows up 5 days a week with an all-star attitude and ready to work. She knows our animals, our routines and our facility. She cleans kennels, does laundry and dishes, walks dogs, spends time with the cats, helps with enrichment, organizes, asks questions, seeks guidance when she needs it — and keeps us laughing along the way.

Most importantly, Emma genuinely cares about the animals and takes pride in the work she does here. She has become a familiar and very appreciated part of our shelter days.

Emma, thank you for choosing to spend your time with us and for all the hard work you put in. You’re doing an AMAZING job, and we appreciate you more than you know! 🐾❤️

And hey, Leadville — Emma doesn’t have to have all the fun. 😉

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, come see us! Walk a dog, socialize a cat, tackle some laundry, help with a project, or just lend us a little of your time. There’s always something to do and an animal who would love the extra attention.

We had another wonderful donation come through — dog crates, biscuits AND bully sticks! Our pups are going to be very happy about that last one. 😂

The crates have clearly been well-loved and are a little dirty, but don’t worry — we’re already shining them up for ya! ✨ A little scrubbing and they’ll be ready for their next adventure.

Every donation helps us keep supplies available for local pets and their people when they need a little extra support. We’ve been blown away by how quickly this community has stepped up when we put out the call.

Leadville, you guys are pretty awesome. 🐶❤️

This beyond sweet kitty was found on the Mineral Belt near the shelter and followed a nice lady home for the night. He is currently safe at the shelter loving up on one of our #1 volunteers! 🫶😺

The shelter is on the hunt for a full-size refrigerator with a freezer in good working condition. Nothing fancy needed — it just needs to keep things cold and frozen. ❄️

Our shelter animals will be grateful. Our budget might be even more grateful. 😂🐶🐱
