🚨 Willow Fire Community Update 🚨

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the Willow Fire. We know this has been an incredibly stressful week for many of our friends, neighbors, and clients.

As of this morning, the fire remains active, and evacuation and pre-evacuation orders continue to change as firefighters work to protect our community. Please continue to monitor official Lake County emergency alerts for the most current information.

🐾 For Lake Fork residents: If you need a safe place for your dogs while you focus on your family's safety, we are here to help.

Dogs may be brought to: • Mountain Dogs Leadville (space permitting) • Mountain Dogs Basecamp in Colorado Springs

Our team will provide a safe, comfortable place for your pets while you take care of what matters most.

If you need boarding due to the fire or have questions about availability, please call us as soon as possible so we can help coordinate care.

🚨 Wildfire Update – Mountain Dogs Leadville 🚨

Mountain Dogs Leadville is currently under a pre-evacuation order due to the Willow Fire.

At this time, we remain open, and all dogs in our care are safe. We are closely monitoring the situation and are in communication with emergency officials.

If you currently have a dog staying with us, please be prepared to pick up your dog immediately if a mandatory evacuation order is issued. If you are unable to do so, please ensure your designated emergency contact is available and ready to respond.

If we are forced to evacuate before owners can arrive, we will transport dogs to our Colorado Springs location, where they will be safely cared for and provided with food and water until they can be reunited with their families.

We will continue to share updates as the situation evolves. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep every dog in our care safe. ❤️🐾

🚨 Wildfire Update – Mountain Dogs Leadville 🚨

We are continuing to closely monitor the Willow Fire and all guidance from Lake County emergency officials.

At this time, our Leadville facility remains operational, and all dogs in our care are safe. We are in communication with local emergency management and have contingency plans in place should conditions change.

If a mandatory evacuation order is issued for our facility, we will transport all dogs in our care to our Colorado Springs location, where they will be housed safely and provided with food, water, and continued care until owners or emergency contacts are able to pick them up.

If an evacuation becomes necessary, we will contact all owners immediately with updates and instructions. Please make sure we have your current phone number and an emergency contact on file.

The safety of your dogs is, and always will be, our highest priority. Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate this evolving situation together. ❤️🐾

If an evacuation becomes necessary, all dog owners (or their designated emergency contacts) will need to pick up their dogs immediately. Please make sure your emergency contact is available if we are unable to reach you.

If conditions change, we will notify everyone immediately by phone, email, and here on Facebook.

Every day is different here. One minute you're supervising playgroups, the next you're helping a nervous dog build confidence, celebrating a successful introduction, or sending a happy pup home after a great day with friends.

What you'll do: 🐶 Supervise dog playgroups
🐶 Help create a safe, fun environment for our guests
🐶 Clean and sanitize play areas and kennels
🐶 Provide enrichment, attention, and individualized care

Our beloved mascot and Leadville doggo Betty White was on the news in Colorado Springs today!

Leashed and Local hosts the dog-themed Barket at Furologist on May 30, featuring 40 vendors, food trucks, an adoptable dog fashion show, and local business Mountain Dogs Basecamp showcasing unique treats, travel gear, and reggae-inspired apparel for dogs.
