It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.

About Laytonsville Vet

Our mission is to provide thorough and compassionate veterinary care to our patients, and to develop friendships and ties throughout the community based on our shared love for animals.

Laytonsville Veterinary Practice was founded in 1988 by Dr. Claire Godwin as a small clinic with only one exam room. In 2000, we moved to a larger facility less than three miles from our original location, where we can accommodate and provide care to many more of the community’s furry patients. Many of our staff members have been with us for more than ten years, and today we have four excellent doctors on staff with a wide variety of expertise, as well as a support staff that is knowledgeable, dedicated and compassionate.
