WERE YOU THE SHY KID WHO HOPED SOMEONE WOULD PICK YOU? 😳You know the one. The kid who stood a little farther back, hoping someone would make room at the lunch table. The one who wanted to make friends but was never quite sure how to walk up and introduce themselves. The one who watched everyone else seem to belong so effortlessly and quietly wondered when it would be their turn.
🐾 Hi, I'm Lord and this is my sister, Lady. We're seven-month-old kittens, and we're a little like that kid. 🐈⬛️
We're not the ones who will necessarily run to the front of the room and demand your attention. We might not be the first kittens you notice, and we probably won't be the ones climbing all over you the minute you walk through the door. While the outgoing kids are busy making friends, we're still working up the courage to say hello. 💞
But please don't mistake our hush for a lack of personality, or our nervousness for a lack of love. ❣️ We aren't waiting for someone to teach us how to love. We're waiting to feel safe enough to show you how much love we already have.
I'm Lord, by the way. I believe in making a good impression and I can be persuaded to make friends with Churus and Temptations. 🐟 🧀 Just so we're clear, I have excellent taste in snacks.
💜 My sister Lady is a sweetheart who loves cuddling with our foster siblings. We both adore other cats, we're affectionate with each other and our furry friends, and we even get along with our foster family's well-mannered Golden Retriever. 🐶 We're playful, too! We love chasing feather wands, playing tag, hunting that pesky laser dot, and scratching away on our cat post. 🪶 ⚽️ When we're ready to slow down, you'll find us napping in a sunny window or curled up on our cat tower.
🌙 When nighttime comes, we have a little habit that might tell you more about us than anything else. 😹 We sneak into our foster family's bedroom to sleep with everyone else.
💤 We don't make a big announcement or ask for attention. We just quietly find our way into the room because, even though we're still learning to trust people, we want to be close to them. Our foster family knows our secret. They let us think we're getting away with it.
Maybe that's how we show our love right now. 💟 A little closer today than yesterday, with a little more trust and a little less fear.
We've come such a long way, and when our foster family catches us, we will let them hold us. We're learning that people can be gentle, that hands can bring comfort, and that maybe we don't have to be so nervous after all. We just need a little more time to believe it. 🤍
That's where we need you. 🥰😻Because when people meet kittens, it's easy to fall for the bold one. The one who immediately climbs into your lap, purrs like a tiny motor, and makes choosing them feel like the easiest decision in the world.
We understand. Who wouldn't love a kitten who makes it so easy?
But what happens to the two little faces watching from the back? 🐈⬛️ 🐈⬛️
The ones who might want to come closer but haven't found their courage yet? The ones who have wonderful little personalities, who love to play and cuddle and be part of a family, but who need someone to look beyond that first nervous impression?
Do they keep waiting? 😿💔 We hope not. We don't want to be BARN CATS. 🏠🐴 We want a home and a family... we just need you to let us go at our own pace.
Maybe you remember being that kid. Maybe you remember the butterflies in your stomach before walking into a room full of people you didn't know. Maybe you remember hoping someone would notice you, invite you over, save you a seat, or make you feel like you belonged without asking you to become somebody else first. 👋 🐾
You didn't need to be the loudest person in the room to be worth knowing... or the most confident, the most outgoing, or the easiest person to get to know. You just needed someone willing to see you. 👀
Lord and Lady need that someone, too. 🩵💜
We're not asking you to feel sorry for us. We're asking you to see us. To see the playful kittens who chase each other around the room, the affectionate siblings who find comfort in one another, the little nighttime visitors who sneak into bed because they want to be near their people. To see the potential in two babies who have already made so much progress, even if they're not quite ready to show you everything on the first meeting.🐈⬛️❣️🐈⬛️
We'll need a patient home, someone who lets us set the pace and celebrates the little victories. 🏆 We may take longer to settle in than a more outgoing kitten, and we'll need you to give us the time and reassurance to keep growing. We'd love to find a home together, where we can keep being each other's safe place while we learn that our new family can be one, too. 🐈⬛️🫂🐈⬛️
🤔 Imagine what it will mean when we finally choose you.
When we come to find you instead of watching from across the room. When we settle beside you because we want to, not because you've coaxed us closer. When we curl up nearby at night and no longer feel the need to sneak around, because we finally understand that we belong there. 💌
You won't just be the person who adopted two kittens. You'll be the person who saw something worth waiting for when everyone else was looking for something easy. 💯
