Dear Tabby,

I’ve just adopted a cat, and they seem to be sneezing a lot. Should I be concerned?
— Gesundheit

Dear Gesundheit

Achoo. It might just be a bit of dust or all the excitement of the brand-new home making the nose twitch. But if there's sneezing a lot or you notice coughing, with a drippy nose, or feeling extra sleepy, it could be time to call the nice vet person. We cats can catch colds just like you.

Please keep the water fresh, the bed warm, and remember that chin scratches are essential to recovery. If the sneezes keep hanging around or get worse, go get checked so you can rule out anything yucky.

Now I am going to curl up for a very important nap.

🛒 Forget rollback deals! The best find in the Walmart parking lot was Sky ID #112123! She was spotted hanging out in Lawrenceville on August 18, and instead of scoring snacks, she's hoping to score herself a second chance.

She did have ID, and we reached out, but after the 10-day wait, no one has come for her. Now this 7-month-old, 43-pound love bug is officially up for grabs — and trust us, she’s better than anything you’ll find in the clearance aisle. 💕

Sky is sweet, friendly, and just the right size for laps and couch snuggles. Let’s not leave this pretty girl waiting any longer! Foster, adopt, or share to help her find her happily-ever-after today! 👉 GwinnettCounty.com/AvailablePets

❤️ Adoption fees are currently WAIVED and include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, and heartworm treatment if needed. No coupon required! 😉

Meet Jewel, ID #111961! This 6-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart truly lives up to her name! She arrived on August 11 as a stray from the Loganville area. At first, she was a little timid, but after some time to decompress, her true sparkle began to shine. During her photoshoot, Jewel showed just how amazing she is...very friendly, affectionate, and eager to please. She already knows her basic commands, will sit and shake for a treat, and is definitely treat-motivated. Now she’s ready to find her furever home where she can shine as the gem she is. Could Jewel be the missing piece of your family? Come meet her or simply share her post with someone who will!

🚨 URGENT RESCUE PLEA 🚨

This sweet boy is Amos, ID #112156. He's a 6-year-old, 40 pound guy who was found on Patterson Park Drive in Lawrenceville, GA on August 20. He had no microchip, no tags, and no one has come forward to claim him. Amos arrived in heartbreaking condition. He is severely emaciated with a Body Condition Score of just 1/9—the lowest possible. He also has wounds on his head and damage to his ears from flystrike. Since arriving, he’s already gained 7.5 pounds on a careful feeding schedule, but he has a long road of recovery ahead and needs ongoing, specialized medical care.

📋 Medical Summary (simplified):
Severe malnutrition & anemia
Elevated liver values (starting on liver support)
Infections being treated with antibiotics
Ongoing need for small, frequent meals and close monitoring

✨ Despite everything, Amos is gentle, resilient, and fighting hard for a second chance. He just needs a rescue partner to step in and give him the care and love he deserves. Amos must have a confirmed rescue commitment by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 3.

📞 Rescue Contact: 678-245-2447
📧 Email: [email protected]

🙏 Please help Amos by sharing his story, reaching out to rescue partners, or stepping up if you’re able. Every share could be the one that saves his life.

🚨 Super senior alert: This handsome gentleman is Nico, ID #112069. He came to us on August 14 after his person passed away, and as you can imagine, he’s scared and a little unsure about shelter life. At 13 years old and 76 pounds, this sweet boy just wants what he’s always known — comfort, love, and a quiet place to rest his head.

Even though he’s still adjusting, Nico showed us his gentle, friendly side during his photo shoot. He’s battling an ear infection right now, but our amazing vet staff is giving him all the TLC he needs. What he really needs next is a foster or adopter who can give him the safe, loving home he deserves for his golden years.

❤️ Adoption fees are currently WAIVED and include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, and heartworm treatment if needed. Please consider opening your heart and home to Nico — help him find peace and love again. 👉 GwinnettCounty.com/AvailablePets

Don’t let this good boy’s tough-sounding name fool you! He’s an almost 80-pound cuddle puddle who knows how to enjoy the pampered life!

Rocky, our gentle 6-year-old shy guy who has been patiently waiting for a home since June. This week, he got the royal treatment thanks to our friends at Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Snellville ! Rocky soaked up every moment of his spa day — from his bubble bath and blow dry to his mani-pedi.

Rocky, ID #110350 is the definition of easygoing. He’s calm on the leash, polite when meeting other dogs, and happiest curled up by your side like the sweet couch potato he is. Housebroken, affectionate, and incredibly mellow, he’s the perfect companion for anyone looking for a gentle, low-key best friend, perhaps one who also indulges in a spa day now and then?

Rocky is ready to trade his kennel for a cozy couch — maybe yours? Learn more about our rockstar, Rocky by giving us a call, stopping in, or visiting GwinnettCounty.com/AvailablePets.

All adoption fees are currently waived and still include spay/neuter, microchip, up-to-date vaccines, and heartworm treatment if needed!

Meet Harrison, ID # 110672. He joined us on June 17 after his person experienced an emergency and could no longer care for him. We held out hope for a reunion, and we still do, but this sweet boy has waited long enough. As much as we care for the pets here, this is never an ideal long-term solution. Harrison deserves the comfort and love of a real home.
Harrison is three years old with a solid 61 pounds of good boy experience. He has a nice, manageable level of energy, at least here with us, and shows off some pretty decent leash-walking skills. He enjoys being outdoors, loves to run, and absolutely adores his toys. In fact, he’s often seen proudly carrying two balls in his mouth at once. He’s silly, friendly, outgoing, jolly, and playful. He also did really well walking past other dogs, which tells us he may be a great companion for more than just his humans, but a meet and greet with potential house mates is required.

This lovable goofball is ready to move on to the next chapter in his life. Be a hero and consider adopting or fostering Harrison today. Call, click, or come see us to learn more about this special boy. He’s ready to meet you.

Go nuts for Squirrel! 🐿️ This 3-year-old, 50-pound bundle of fun is BACK with us and ready for a brand-new chapter. He had a home once, but after being found in Bethesda Park on August 11 and giving his owner plenty of time to return… no one showed up. Now Squirrel is officially available to adopt, and we can’t believe he’s still waiting!

Squirrel is very friendly, curious, and smart — he even sits when asked! He’s also an excellent escape artist (true to his name, he’s quick and clever), so he’ll need a family ready to keep up with his antics and make sure he stays safe. With his playful personality and zest for life, he’s sure to keep you smiling and laughing every single day! He was a rock star in playgroups, wearing himself out quickly, but just an over-all life of the party.

Adoption fees are currently WAIVED and include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, and heartworm treatment if needed. Don’t let this nutty-good boy slip through your fingers — come meet Squirrel and make him part of your forever family today! 💛

Hi, I’m Marvin, or ID #112001. I’m about 3 years old, weigh 50 pounds, and I came here on August 12 after being found as a stray in the Norcross area. When I first arrived, I was a little timid. During my photoshoot, I tried my best to be brave… and I even showed off my sit! I might be a little shy at first, but really, I’m just a sweet baby who wants love, patience, and a family to call my own. I’m ready for my forever home. Maybe it could be with you? Come meet me today, or simply share my post with your friends.
