If you're looking for a sign to spoil a dog today… Mitzy Ray is literally sitting right here.

She's 5 years old, 33 pounds, and quite possibly one of the most adorable little faces you'll see today. She arrived on July 29 after being found all by herself. She does have a microchip, and we reached out to her registered owner, but there seems to be some confusion about who actually owns this sweet girl.

So for now, we're making sure she knows she's safe and loved. During her photoshoot, Mitzy was friendly, timid, happy, and showed us she knows how to sit. And judging by her expression when treats were involved… we're going to go ahead and assume she's a fan.

Let's be honest... our dogs already run the house. Today is just their official excuse for extra treats, belly rubs, squeaky toys, long walks, pup cups, and maybe even a spot on the couch (as if they weren't already there).

Coal may keep you warm... but Cole, ID #118677, will steal your heart.

Cole does have those pesky heart worms - BUT don't let that deter you! We will cover the treatment with a foster or adoption commitment! We just need to be sure he has the care and comfort he will need to recover properly. Our team will be happy to answer any questions and explain how it works.

Sweet as her name... and just as irresistible.

Toffee is a beautiful 3-year-old, 49-pound sweetheart who was found on her own in the Buford area. While she's a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn't take long for her sweet personality to shine through.

Gary ID #118749 would like to formally introduce himself… and we have a feeling he has a few things to say about that whole “senior dog with medical needs” business. 😏🐾
First of all: look at that face. 😂

Gary is 8 years old, 64 pounds, and apparently believes life is pretty darn good. During his photoshoot, Gary was friendly, happy-go-lucky, and perfectly willing to sit when asked. (Honestly, we appreciate a dog who knows how to follow directions.)

Gary was found on Huff Drive in Lawrenceville on August 2 and, sadly, nobody came looking for him. He wasn't microchipped, so we're hoping his next chapter is with someone who recognizes what a good boy they have. ❤️

Gary does have an old injury affecting his right hind leg. It's a chronic issue with his hock joint, and while his leg is bowed and unstable, he is comfortable and has adapted remarkably well. He doesn't seem particularly interested in letting one wonky leg ruin his day.

His attitude seems to be:
“Okay… so are we going to have a great day or what?”

Gary also tested positive for heartworms. Once a foster or adoption commitment is secured, we will cover his treatment - so we can make sure he has a quiet, calm place to recover.

And for any potential hero who is thinking, “I don't know anything about taking on a dog with medical needs…”
That's okay. We do. ❤️

Our team will walk potential adopters or rescue partners through Gary's medical information, what his orthopedic evaluation may involve, and what
to share with your vet. He is available for rescue or adoption on a medical waiver so we can be sure he will get the continued care he may need.

Gary has not been dog tested yet, so we don't currently have information about how he feels about other dogs. As always, meet-and-greets are required before adoption. And no, we don't cat test — because asking a cat to participate in that experiment is generally how you end up with a very offended cat.

Gary's old injury doesn't define him.

He is a happy, affectionate, resilient senior who deserves a soft bed, a loving person, some snacks, and the chance to spend his golden years being someone's very best boy.

Today, we're celebrating cats of every age, personality, and story... and we'd love for you to meet one very special boy.

This is Barbosa, ID #118395. He's over 10 years old, weighs just 6.2 pounds, and was found alone outside a church with no microchip and no one who came looking for him. Yet somehow, this sweet senior still greets everyone with gentle affection and a heart full of love.

Barbosa is facing some significant medical challenges, including advanced kidney disease, and he'll need continued veterinary care and a quiet, loving home. But what stands out most isn't his diagnosis, it's his spirit. He still wants pets. He still enjoys people. He still believes someone is out there for him.
