Mr. Bug and Marvin are anxiously awaiting Thanksgiving and already lickin' their chops! BUT...... I need to make sure that I keep them safe over Turkey Day celebrations. Common Turkey Day foods may contain ingredients that are harmful to our dogs. Dishes that you should avoid feeding to your dog: Mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, gravy, stuffing, turkey skin, turkey bones, nuts, desserts with chocolate or artifical sweetener.

Teaching your dog to, “Say Hi,” is a great way to prevent your dog from jumping on people. The behavior is the dog touching a person’s hand with their nose and returning back to handler for a treat . It is also useful for dogs that need a little time to warm up around new people.

Also, please don’t judge my parenting decision for not making my son put on shoes or pants for this video 🤣🥶

Mollie likes to jump on anyone and everyone who walks through the door. I know my Goldens, and I know a lot of them love their tennis balls. During our training session, we put a bucket of balls by the door and cued Mollie to grab a ball before I entered. Viola! Success! The ball serves as a soothing tool for Mollie , which helps calm her and prevents jumping up. Sometimes, the solution is right in front of us 😀

It's getting coldddddddd! Don't let that stop you from rewarding your dog while outside! I can't tell you how many times I have heard, "I can't give treats while walking my dog because I'm wearing gloves, and it gets too messy!" Well, there is an answer for everything! One of our clients prepared a travel shampoo container with yummy soft food to carry with her on walks. She can wear her gloves and still reinforce her adorable pup! NO EXCUSES!

Ideas for filling: soft dog food mixed with canned pumpkin (unsweetened), cream cheese, yogurt.
