Lilburn PD Scam - We responded to a call today where someone received a phone call supposedly from Lilburn Police Chief "Chris Dusik," who informed them of pending "money laundering and drug charges". The caller provided another phone number to the "US Marshals" where she could "pay off the charges". The would-be victim knew better and called the real Lilburn PD. The worst part is that the scammer cloned the actual PD's office phone number to make the call look legitimate. No police officer would ever call a legitimate suspect in a case and advise them that they have pending charges that they could pay off. If you are ever called by the police, and you feel it is questionable, you have every right to meet the officer in person at the police station, or call the non-emergency number to verify it. Law enforcement officials will NEVER request payment under any circumstance. Please share this with all of your friends.
