We just had one of the worst surrender situations to date.

- Person requests us to accept the surrender of a rat.
- We provide a surrender appointment time, but quickly cancel it within an hour due to an error in our system and promptly inform this person of the schedule change.
- Person completely ignores cancelation and comes anyway despite us telling them that there's nobody to receive the animal. Person replies with "I'll leave it on the porch if there's nobody around."
- We figure out a solution to receiving the animal, and this is how it arrives to us, in a tied-up plastic bag with no vent holes.

Note: The single rat is okay and is now in an appropriate enclosure until we figure out what to do next. Also, this person is definitely off our Christmas card list.

We believe that we've found the perfect formula to rehome sweet neutered single male rats...toss in a couple lovely ladies to make a mixed insta-mischief.

We did that not once, but twice! Two of our neutered boys each got a pair of girlfriends before heading to their new . The ladies didn't mind their new squishy boy toys and everyone got along great.

So those six Van Nuys boys? They all went home together! We knew that they couldn't be separated, and their new family completely agreed with that sentiment. We wish you a long time of inquisitive sniffing and popcorn jumps.

Also, one of our returning adopters took home a pair of young ladies to add to their mischief. We always appreciate those who have supported us through the years and keep the door open for more .

We had six rats leave over the weekend to three new homes. Two of our families are first-time owners, and one family brought home a pair of young dudes to match up with their existing male rat.

The two female rats from our acquisition from the Van Nuys shelter that we put on pregnancy watch cleared their two-week hold and found their today with a first-time owner!

They're a lovely pair that likes to hide in hair and wasted no time climbing all over their new hooman.

BTW the six males from that situation are available and are amazing! (TBH we'd love to see them all leave as one unit, but we know six dudes are a lot of rat to handle.) Also the many babies and the mom who came in with them will be ready in just a couple more weeks.
