‼️ Update on Shaggy & Tonka's fundraiser... we are at $440 for Shaggy!! Still a way to go to get to the goal but this start is so incredibly amazing. Thank you to those who donated to help get these boys the care they deserve.

Meet Tonka and Shaggy, two handsome boys who were recently trapped as part of our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) efforts.
Both boys were successfully neutered, but during their veterinary examinations, we received some heartbreaking news.
😢 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗜𝗩 (𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘂𝘀... 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗦).... 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲!
Shaggy's dental disease was described by the veterinarian as 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙤𝙪𝙨. His mouth was in such terrible condition that the odor alone was overwhelming. This would explain his poor body condition when he was trapped. He is underweight and is not grooming himself as he should.
While Tonka's body condition hasn't yet been affected by the inability to eat, the pain can be seen when he eats. He drops a lot food, tends to chew on one side and is drooling.
These boys have likely been living with significant dental pain for quite some time. Imagine trying to eat every day with a mouth full of painful, diseased teeth. Now imagine having to survive outdoors while dealing with that pain.
💔 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙪𝙨 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣'𝙩 𝙨𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜.
At this point, we still don't know what the future holds for Tonka and Shaggy. We are evaluating whether either boy can be socialized and eventually placed for adoption or whether they will need to return to their outdoor lives as TNR cats.
But one thing is absolutely certain.
𝗪𝗲 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗧 (𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗡𝗢𝗧) 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲.
Being a community cat does not make their pain any less important. Being feral or unsocialized does not mean they deserve to suffer. They deserve the same compassion and medical care as any beloved house cat.
Unfortunately, that care comes with a significant price tag.
🦷 **Estimated dental costs:**
- **Tonka:** $700–$1,200
- **Shaggy:** $700–$1,200
- **Combined fundraising goal: Up to $2,400**
These estimates depend on the extent of dental work and extractions needed.
We are asking our community to come together and help us give these two boys something they may not have experienced in a very long time — 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻.
Whether you can contribute $5, $10, $25, or sponsor a larger portion of their care, every single dollar brings us closer to getting them the treatment they desperately need.
We will be updating their fundraising thermometers as donations come in so everyone can follow their progress.

They didn't choose to live outdoors. They didn't choose to have diseased teeth. And they certainly don't deserve to continue suffering simply because they don't have someone to call their own.

Every cat matters. Even the ones who may never become someone's pet. ❤️
