Puppies don’t come knowing how to relax.

Too much freedom, too much stimulation, and zero structure is exactly why so many dogs struggle to settle, listen, and regulate themselves.

Calmness is taught through routine, consistency, boundaries, and follow through.
Not chaos. Not constant entertainment.

Structure isn’t about creating a “robot dog.”

Neutrality doesn’t always look flashy.

Sometimes it looks like this…
A dog laying calmly in the middle of a store, able to settle, breathe, and just exist without needing to react to every little thing around them.

That’s the stuff I care about most in training.
Not just commands — but teaching dogs how to regulate, relax, and move through the world with a clear head. 🖤

To the moms raising babies and dogs at the same time… whew. 🤍

The ones wiping noses while doing potty breaks.
The ones loading kids and kennels into the car at the same time.
The ones reheating coffee for the 4th time while breaking up chaos in the house.

It’s messy. Loud. A little feral some days.
But man… it’s full of love.

These kids and these dogs have taught me patience, softness, structure, and how to keep showing up even on the hard days.

Wouldn’t trade the chaos for anything.

Full body wiggles, snuggle attacks, and absolutely zero personal space 😂

But once the excitement settled, we worked on relaxing while her momma and I chatted. And she did it. That balance between being able to enjoy the excitement but also learning how to settle is so important.

Of course… the second we were done talking she made sure I received every cuddle and snuggle attack she had saved up 🐾

and honestly, it shouldn’t be.

No tricks.
No chaos.
No scene.

Just a dog that can walk into a space, lay down, and exist — calmly.

In a busy place like this…
noise, movement, people coming and going —
and still choosing to settle.

That’s the work.

Can they enter a building without hesitation?
Can they hold a down without fidgeting, whining, or popping up?
Can they relax even when everything around them says “stay alert”?

That quiet neutrality…
that ability to just be…
that’s what makes a solid dog.
