These are the moments I live for. 🥹❤️

Having past training clients come back and seeing the love they still have for not only me, but my family, means more than I can put into words.

Atlas is one of my past training boys, and you better believe he is making sure to get in ALL the cuddles while he’s here. 🐾

This right here is why I love what I do. These dogs become so much more than just clients. They become part of our little Small Town K9 family.

We love this sweet boy so dang much! ❤️

🐾 Hi! My name is Luka! 🐾

I’m a 4-year-old Chihuahua, and apparently my mom thinks it’s time for me to learn a few things! 🤣

Now, personally, I think I run a pretty tight ship, but Mom says we have a few things to work on. 🙄

First off, I have LOTS to say! Someone walks by my house? I have to let everyone know. Someone knocks on the door? Oh, you better believe I’m announcing their arrival! 📢

And strangers? Well, I just need a few minutes to decide if I like you. Once I realize you’re cool, we’re good! But please don’t come running up trying to pet me. I like my personal space. 😂

Apparently, I also need to work on this thing called leash manners because pulling Mom around isn’t exactly what she had in mind.

Oh, and we’re working on potty training and crate skills too. I guess being 4 doesn’t mean I’m too old to learn some new tricks!

So here’s what I’m learning during my stay at Small Town K9! 🐾

🐶 Building confidence around new people and dogs

🐶 Learning to be neutral instead of having an opinion about EVERYTHING

🐶 Leash manners without all the pulling

🐶 A calmer mindset when the world gets a little exciting

🐶 Crate skills and a consistent potty routine

🐶 Learning that not every knock, stranger, or passing dog needs an announcement

My trainer says we’re going to take things at my pace, build my confidence, and help me understand that I don’t have to worry about everything going on around me.

She also says the goal isn’t to make me love every person or dog I see. It’s to help me feel comfortable, make better choices, and just enjoy life with my family.

So wish me luck! I’m a little guy with a BIG personality, and apparently we’re learning how to put all that personality to good use! 🤠🐾

🐾 Hey y’all! My name is Draco! 🐾

Apparently, my parents signed me up for something called the Puppy Combo here at Small Town K9. Whatever that means. 😂

From what I’ve heard, it’s the Puppy Foundations AND Fresh Start programs. So I guess I’m going to be here learning a whole lot!

Apparently, I need to learn my name, leash skills, sit, place, recall, and something called a calm mindset. Not really sure what that last one is because I have a whole lot of puppy things to do. 🤪

My parents say they want me to be able to go on vacations, attend family events, hang out around the house, and just be part of everyday life without all the chaos.

Personally, I think I’m doing just fine. 😂

My boy just wants his best buddy to go everywhere with him, but Mom says I need to learn some manners first. 🙄

So here I am, learning how to be a well-rounded little gentleman!

I guess the goal is to grow up into a dog who can go places, hang out with my family, and know how to behave without making everything a big production.

Not every person needs to pet you. Not every dog needs to be your friend. Not every sound, movement, or distraction needs a reaction.

Sometimes socialization is simply sitting back, watching the world go by, and learning that you don’t have to be involved in everything.

I want my puppies to be confident, calm, and comfortable in different environments. To see the world, take it all in, and realize it’s really not that big of a deal.

We’re not raising puppies that need to say hi to everyone. We’re raising puppies that can go anywhere and just exist.

That’s the kind of mindset we’re building here at Small Town K9. 🤎

Zeus is officially here for his 3-week Fresh Start Program! 🤎

Our biggest goals for this handsome guy are leash skills, overall calmness, and learning how to slow that busy brain down.

We’ll be working on helping Zeus make better choices around people and kids—especially keeping those paws on the ground instead of jumping up! We’ll also be building solid leash manners so his family can actually enjoy taking him for walks without the added stress.

The goal isn’t to change who Zeus is. It’s to give him the structure, communication, and skills he needs so his family can enjoy him more and stress a whole lot less. 🐾

Nothing special, nothing over the top—just sitting, watching people walk by, and learning that the world can move around you without needing to be involved in everything.

Socialization doesn’t always mean interaction. Sometimes the best thing we can teach a puppy is how to simply observe, stay neutral, and relax. This is how we build confident, calm dogs. 🐶✨
