Our current study will be over by the end of the month. We ran into a small hiccup which is the main reason for studies. We learn through the process! The team will likely take a break over winter. We are 100% volunteer and it has been a long summer of dedicated time to UC Davis. It has been very exciting to participate and see what dogs are capable of. I suspect sniffing out cancer was easier than what the dogs were asked to do on this study. I can’t publicly say the specifics of the study until it has been published. Stay tuned! My BioDetection Dog Team is knocking it out of the park so far on this U.C. Davis study. So proud of all the dogs. Sycamore Lane Kennels has been incredible to work with and allowing us the dedicated space to train and then conduct this study which has never been done before. It could have global implications when completed!🐾🐾🐾 GO BIO-DOGS!

We began a study with UC Davis veterinary college today using biodetection dogs. I put a team of 13 dogs together to work on the project! 🐾🐾🐾 we have one month to imprint on odor and then we will conduct the study. It is really interesting and has never been done before but has global implications.

Prada is finally done with testing (at least all the front teeth) so training time. She had fun on the ramp of the dock snd learning to jump and grab the frisbee today!

Thank you to Charm, our videographer, and Jules Veterinary Hospital in Tracy for graciously donating their beautiful space! Today, California Canine and the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of California had a video shoot of the dogs screening human urine samples for cancer. We would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Jacqueline Podesta for her amazing and generous $1000 donation to our program! We finally will be purchasing our badly needed medical freezer for storing biological samples. She has single handedly launched our program to the next level 😬♥️😬♥️
(Our cancer detection dogs were volunteering as Therapy Dogs at St Joseph Hospital in Stockton when we accepted the donation, hence the Hawaiian costumes 🤣)
