Summer dog grooming is crucial for a dog’s health, comfort, and overall well-being during warmer months. Here’s why:

TEMPERATURE REGULATION: While it might seem counterintuitive, a dog’s coat, especially double-coated breeds, acts as a natural insulator, protecting them from both heat and cold. Regular grooming, particularly de-shedding (removing loose undercoat), allows for better air circulation to the skin, helping them regulate their body temperature and prevent overheating. Mats and tangles can trap heat, making it difficult for dogs to cool down.

REDUCES DESHEDDING: Regular deshedding helps remove loose hair, which not only keeps your home cleaner but also prevents your dog from feeling bogged down by excess fur.

PREVENTS MATTING AND TANGLING: More outdoor activity in summer can lead to mats and tangles, which are painful and can pull on the skin.

MAINTAINS CLEANLINESS: Regular baths with dog-specific shampoo remove dirt, sweat, and odors, keeping your dog fresh and comfortable.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS: Avoid shaving double-coated breeds: For breeds like Huskies, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds, their double coat provides natural insulation. Sirius Pet Styling is owned and operated by Beth Wells and Nicole Williams. The two have a combined 40+ years of experience in the pet grooming industry. Currently, they are two of only a few pet stylists in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area that are registered and Certified by International Professional Groomers, Inc. Nicole and Beth are also PetTech Certified in pet CPR and first aid.

Nicole is a mother of two and an avid pet enthusiast. She is a talented pet stylist with a long-time passion for baking confections. She is excited to expand her skills to pet treats to share with her beloved clients.

Beth, also a mother of two, is a multiple award-winning groomer. She has a strong drive towards learning and educating others in the areas of pet styling, pet welfare, and customer service.

Their dream is a pet styling salon that provides a positive and stress-free environment for pets and people, specialty pet treats, retail convenience, and delivers excellent customer service.
