🚨 EMERGENCY INTAKE – A Mama and Her 6 Newborn Puppies Need Us 🚨

Sometimes rescue chooses us when we least expect it.

For weeks, this sweet mama dog wandered a neighborhood alone. Hungry, thirsty, and clearly struggling. A kind stranger had been trying to help her and was finally able to bring her to safety last night. She was dehydrated and appeared to be in pain, so she was given food, water, and a warm place to rest.

By morning, the reason for her discomfort became clear… she had gone into labor and gave birth to 6 beautiful puppies overnight. ❤️🐾

Meet Mama Steel Magnolia and her six Magnolias: M’Lynn Eatenton, Shelby Eatenton, Truvy Jones, Annelle Dupuy, Clairee Belcher, and Ouiser Boudreaux 🌸🐾

Now, what started as one dog needing help has become a family of seven relying on rescue. They will need veterinary care, puppy supplies, food, pads, blankets, and everything needed to give them the healthy start they deserve.

We could not say no to them, but we cannot do this alone.

💛 Please consider donating to help us provide for mama and her babies. Every dollar makes a difference.

Welcome to safety, sweet mama. 🐶💕

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

Our rescue van has apparently decided that saving dogs was too much work and has chosen retirement.

Unfortunately, it forgot to discuss this decision with us first.

After countless rescue missions, desert searches, emergency vet runs, transporting giant traps, hauling donations, and helping save hundreds of dogs, the engine has officially waved the white flag and given up.

To be fair, we've probably asked this van to do things no normal vehicle should ever have to do.

"Drive 40 miles into the desert at midnight to save a scared husky?"

Van: ✔️

"Transport a 7-foot trap, 300 pounds of equipment, three volunteers, and a dog covered in mud?"

Van: ✔️

"Go rescue another dog?"

Van: "...💀"

The problem is that this van isn't just transportation. It's one of the most important tools we have.

Without it, our rescue operations become significantly harder.

So we're asking for help getting our four-wheeled rescue partner back on the road.

If you'd like to contribute toward repairs, we'd be incredibly grateful. Every dollar helps.

If you can't donate, please share this post. The animals don't care who fixes the van - they just need us to get to them.

Update sweet Romeo has been adopted!!
Thank you to Sheedvash Michael Zargari and USA Doodle Rescue!

ROMEO - 4 yrs
Meet your new favorite cuddle buddy. ❤️

This sweet boy is looking for a family to call his own, and he has so much love to give. If you’re searching for a dog who wants to be part of your everyday life, he just might be your perfect match.

He’s the best of both worlds: a total couch potato who would happily spend the evening snuggled up beside you, but he’s also always up for a walk around the neighborhood. He enjoys getting out and exploring, and the best part? He walks beautifully on leash and doesn’t pull.

He’s done wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him an easy addition to many different types of families. He especially seems to enjoy having canine companionship and may thrive in a home with another friendly dog.

What he loves most, though, is being with his people. He’s affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing—whether that’s movie nights on the couch, family walks, or simply following you from room to room.

Because he forms strong bonds with the people he loves, he may need a little extra patience and support as he adjusts to a new home and routine. In foster care, we’ve noticed that he can become vocal when left alone for longer periods, but he’s already shown improvement with consistency, companionship from another dog, and a predictable schedule. His future family should be prepared to continue helping him build confidence when home alone.

If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a gentle heart, excellent snuggling skills, and just the right balance of adventure buddy and couch companion, this boy is ready to meet you. ❤️

Meet Chorizo! 🌶️

Chorizo is an adorable 8-month-old pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. When he first arrived in foster care, he was frightened and unsure of the world around him. Rather than rushing him, we gave him the time, patience, and space he needed to feel safe—and he has blossomed into such a wonderful little dog.

Today, Chorizo is a charming, playful boy who gets along beautifully with other dogs and even cats. He takes comfort in following the lead of confident canine friends and has learned that people can be trusted, too. Once you’ve earned his trust, he’ll become your loyal shadow and happiest companion.

We believe Chorizo’s early experiences may not have always been kind, which makes his transformation even more remarkable. Beneath his cautious exterior is a sweet, loving pup who simply needs a patient family willing to let him settle in at his own pace.

Watching Chorizo discover confidence and joy has been incredibly rewarding. He has so much love to give, and the lucky family who adopts him will get to see just how special he truly is.

We absolutely adore this little guy—and have a feeling you will too. ❤️

Meet Milo & Mikey — the cutest little bonded duo ever. 💙💙

These sweet boys came to us as an owner surrender after their person passed away, which was absolutely heartbreaking. When they first arrived in foster care, they were a little depressed, but within just a few days their sparkle came back. They’ve been happy little babies ever since, soaking up love, attention, and the overdue medical care they truly needed.

Milo is a gorgeous 3–4 year old purebred dapple Dachshund. He is super chill, easygoing, playful when he wants to be, great with other dogs, and loves to tell you when he’s hungry with his adorable little “awooos.” He and Mikey both sleep in their individual crates at night right next to each other and do wonderfully. Milo loves laying right on top of you and giving endless kisses. He is pure perfection.

Mikey is an 8 lb Chiweenie who is very bonded to Milo. He is also sweet, snuggly, playful, loves toys, and does great with other dogs. He can be a little shy with new people at first, especially if you try to pick him up too quickly, but he warms up fast and is such a love.

These two have been an absolute treat in foster care. They currently live with four other dogs and everyone gets along beautifully. Their ideal home would be one where someone is home most of the time, since they sleep in crates at night and prefer to be out with their people during the day. Because Mikey is so tiny, we are looking for a home with no young children.

Dachshund experience would be a huge plus. Their forever family should understand the importance of ramps for beds and couches, supporting their long backs when picking them up, and helping prevent any injuries. They also love basking in the sun, so a yard would be ideal.

Milo and Mikey could go to a home with other dogs or be the only two spoiled babies in the house. They are such an amazing pair and will bring so much joy to the lucky family who adopts them.

Please apply if you’re interested in giving Milo and Mikey the forever home they deserve. 💙🐾

We keep thinking about Charlie lying there in that park, struggling to breathe, her body failing her, and wondering how long she had been carrying that burden alone. How long she had been waiting for her family to come back… because it’s clear that she once had a family that kept her going for what we believe to be about 12 years.

On Thursday, a call came in about a small dog found alone at Charlie Frias Park. The caller said she looked like she was dying. She was struggling to breathe, severely dehydrated, covered in masses, and barely able to hold on. We named her Charlie and rushed her to Horizon Ridge Animal Hospital, hoping that somehow she had found help in time.

Over the next few days, an entire community fought for her. She was wrapped in warming blankets because her body temperature was dangerously low. She received IV fluids, antibiotics, medications, and syringe feedings every few hours because she wouldn’t eat on her own. We watched and waited, hoping her kidney values would improve, hoping her body would begin to respond, hoping this sweet little dog who had already endured so much would finally catch a break.

But some stories don’t end the way we want them to.

Charlie’s kidneys continued to fail despite every effort. Her body was tired. She was suffering. And today, with broken hearts, we made the decision to let her go peacefully.

We haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. Not just the Charlie we met at the end of her life, but the Charlie who existed before any of this.

Because every sick, hungry, frightened dog found wandering the streets was once somebody’s baby. They once had a name spoken with love, a family, a favorite spot to sleep, a toy they carried around proudly, a heart full of trust and hope. No dog is born expecting to be alone.

Dogs give us everything they have. They don’t care about our flaws. They don’t hold grudges. They don’t judge us for our mistakes. We are their entire world, their safety, their comfort, their family. We are their universe.

And when that bond is broken, when they are left behind, it breaks the one heart that never stopped loving us.

The saddest part is that even after everything, they still wait… They wait for the person they love to come back.

And as the days pass, the confusion settles in. The fear grows and their trust is shattered, yet somehow their loyalty remains.

She was waiting for someone who never came. No animal should have to leave this world feeling forgotten.

Charlie mattered. Her life mattered. Her pain mattered and while we couldn’t save her, we could make sure that her final days were different from whatever came before them. She was warm and cared for. She was spoken to with kindness and surrounded by people who were fighting for her.

She did not leave this world alone.

If Charlie’s story can serve any purpose beyond our heartbreak, let it be this: please pay attention to the animals around you. The old dog wandering a neighborhood. The stray curled up under a bush. The dog that looks a little too thin, a little too tired, a little too sick.

Please don’t assume someone else will help.

Sometimes one phone call is the reason an animal experiences kindness before their final goodbye.

Run free, sweet Charlie. Whatever your life looked like before we met you, we hope you knew, even for a moment, that you were safe, loved, and that you mattered.

You deserved so much more than this. Rest in peace, Charlie🌈

We also want to say thank you to every person who donated, shared her story, sent prayers, crossed their fingers, and hoped alongside us… thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Charlie's story did not end the way we prayed it would, but because of you, it ended with love. Thank you for giving that to her and for continuing to stand beside us when the cases are hard, the outcomes are heartbreaking, and the animals need us most.

We could not do this without you❤️🤍
