Enzymes vs. Oxy: What's the Difference?

We often hear people say, "Enzymes don't work."

The truth? Quality enzymes absolutely work. The problem is that many enzyme products are heavily diluted, leading to disappointing results.

Here's a breakdown of our enzyme and oxy products:

Enzymes (War on P*e)

Enzymes work by digesting organic contamination at the source. It's not an instant process, but that's because they're doing real work beneath the surface.

✅ Cleans while treating odors
✅ Targets contamination at the source
✅ Helps prevent odors from returning
✅ Safe and easy to use

War on P*e doesn't rely on fragrance to hide odors. Our formula is packed with enzymes and cleaning agents that work together to break down odor-causing contamination.

Oxy (Operation Stain Buster)

Oxygen-based products work differently. They use oxidation to rapidly break down stains and many odor-causing compounds.

✅ Fast acting
✅ Excellent stain removal
✅ Quick odor reduction
✅ Simple spray-and-go application

However, oxidation may not remove all contamination beneath the surface. In some cases, odors can return if moisture is later reintroduced.

Which One Is Better?

Neither.

They're simply different tools for different needs.

Need deep cleaning and source treatment?
Choose War on P*e.

Need fast stain removal and quick results?
Choose Operation Stain Buster.

That's exactly why we offer both.

If you're wanting a dog or cat, please consider adopting! There are so many dogs and cats, especially seniors that need a home!

Look at this face! Braxton is waiting at the Humane Society of Skagit Valley for his adopter. We can't believe he is still there! Braxton needs your shares, Friends. 🙏🐾

Braxton is an 11 year old, 81-pound mixed-breed sweetheart. He’s loving, playful, happy, and George-Clooney handsome. He’s been melting the hearts of staff and volunteers left and right during his time at the shelter.

Braxton is potty trained but has an old man bladder so may not last 8+ hours. Who wants to hold it that long?! The shelter was told he did fine being left alone inside with no destructive behaviors.

He has lived with a 9 and 10 year old kids, and it sounds like he did well wit them. It is best that Braxton finds a home with kids old enough to understand that senior dogs may have achy spots that don’t want to be touched.

Braxton lived with cats he was scared of. Staff say they don’t know how that played out but perhaps his forever home could be with a cat that doesn’t cause his knees to shake, or even better, be cat-free.

Staff is still assessing dog compatibility for Braxton but he may prefer to be the only dog as he has not lived with them before. If you have another mellow dog that just wants to coexist, it would be worth a meet and greet.

Braxton's ideal home would take him on regular short walks or a jaunt around the yard. The rest of the time, he’d love to be on the couch with you for snuggles and movie time. He looooves treats and will give you full-time tail wags for sharing some with him. This guy has so much love and joy to share!

Braxton is posted for the Humane Society of Skagit County, located at 18841 Kelleher Rd in Burlington, WA . The shelter is open M-F from 11-5, Sat-Sun from 11-4. Here is where you can apply to adopt Braxton:

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
