Join us today for the 10th Annual EPPWS Insect Monster Movie Night on October 23rd in the Corbett Center Auditorium. This is a FREE family event with FREE popcorn! We will be showing Ant Bully (6:00pm) and Tremors (7:45pm). See cool arthropod displays and live insects. Doors open at 5:30pm.

We had a lot of fun at the STEM AG Career Fair Day AgXplorer! Held at the Southern New Mexico Fairgrounds.

Dr. Ramirez, Dr. Joanie King, Ivan Tellez and two of our awesome PhD students, Ram Singh Insa and Lohith Siva Venkata Ramakrishna Koyya, joined together to showcase the exciting world of entomology and plant sciences!

Students got a close-up look at different critters and plants, sparking curiosity and conversations about careers in agriculture and STEM. 🐜🪳🪴🌿

Dr. Bundy is a Professor of Entomology in the EPPWS Department and Director of NMSU Arthropod Museum. If you haven't already taken his Human, Insects and the Environment class you definitely should. Mention this class and you are bound to know someone who has due to its popularity. This semester alone he has 700 students in this class!

Aggie Street Festival Fall 2025 was a blast! Tons of booths from different programs, leather branding, even homemade ice cream and lemonade! Music and what better than live insects? The Entomology Club joined EPPW's Dept. Head Dr. Ricardo Ramirez along with Professor of Fungal Plant Pathology Dr. Soum Sanogo. Some of our new undergraduates in Applied and Agricultural Biology came too! Was great to see you all out there! "I’m excited to be joining NMSU and EPPWS as an Assistant Professor of Urban Entomology!
I am coming from the University of California, Riverside, where my research focused on insect behavior and sustainable pest management in agricultural systems.
At NMSU, my research program will expand on this work by integrating insect behavior, genetics, and applied pest management techniques to address challenges in urban environments, with a focus on how arthropods adapt to urbanizing landscapes and the spillover between urban, peri-urban, and agricultural systems.
Outside of work, I’m an avid outdoors enthusiast, ultrarunner, and proud dog parent of three (please ask to see pictures ). I’m thrilled to start this new chapter and look forward to teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists here at NMSU."
