Good news and bad news, I've decided to close Pawsatively. It was just too much overhead and I'm supposed to be retired. So I'm going to do that...retire, again. I'm going to miss my awesome customers and dogs. We had some great times.

I've heard from more than one person who tried to contact me here. Apologies but I rarely check this page and don't advertise anywhere. Easiest way to reach me is to search Pawsatively Las Cruces on Google.

Summer rates are still in effect, though do be aware the entire month of September is already booked. October is filling up fast but I'm reserving an owner's weekend off to make a trip to Tombstone, AZ.

Due to the high temps I've had to make some changes to the routine here. I'm letting the dogs outside starting at 5 am and wrangling them back into the A/C between 10 and 11. Keeping the pool full and a water bowl by the front door.

Also have emergency power in case of a power outage. I've got two generators and two window A/C units in case of an extended power interruption. Those can be used here or at a customer's home if I'm providing in-home pet care. They're whisper quiet 2,000 watt generators so the neighbors won't complain about the noise.

Until the temps come down a little, no late afternoon pickups or drop offs.

Here's the current holiday schedule:

Memorial Day: Booked solid. Sorry.

4th of July - Dog party. This house has high thermal mass that dampens the sound of fireworks enough that it doesn't really bother the dogs. Plus we have treats, toys, calming music broadcast throughout the house and a lot of play time. Get a low dose of anti-anxiety med from your vet if your dog really freaks over fireworks, but not the kind that knocks them out for two days. A few reservations left for the weekend of the 4th.

For the last minute callers...I'm sorry but Memorial weekend is completely booked, both in-home care and pet sitting in the customer's home are full. Unless there's a cancellation, we have no availability until the third week of June.

Just a reminder that Pawsatively doesn't really have holiday hours here. We're open pretty much all the time, unless I'm out on errands or closed because I'm out of town. When it comes to picking up your pet, that can be arranged 24/7. Travel has been a nightmare lately and, if your flight is delayed or you get held up by construction on the road, there's no reason to worry about picking up your pet by a certain time. You can just call me on the way over, even if it's late (or early), no problem.

I always want Pawsatively to be the one bright spot in your travel experience. The one thing that goes right. The one place that doesn't hit you with a raft of niggling fees or stop returning calls at inconvenient times. I intentionally keep my customer base small so I can provide the kind of personal service you can't get anywhere else. Most of my pet guests think of this as their second home. You can't enjoy your vacation if you're worried about your baby.

A couple reminders for anyone shopping for a pet sitting home. We can only accommodate small and medium size dogs that are social with other pets for overnight stays here at the house. We do accept the occasional large dog if they're exceptionally friendly. There are no cages or kennels here, all the dogs play together inside and out. Most of the dogs that stay here are well socialized and play together both here and the dog park.

For larger dogs or families with several pets, we can provide pet care in your home. That is the fastest growing service we offer and we have cared for dogs, cats, horses, pet birds and a variety of reptiles. Prices vary by how many pets need care but most fall into our standard rates of $60/day.
