As a groomer, I totally get it — we all want the dream clients: the ones that tip well, book regularly, and value our art.

But as a salon owner, I also see the other side of things.
Sometimes we say we want “better clients,” but we’re not creating an environment that actually attracts them.

Clients that pay luxury prices expect more than just a good haircut. They’re paying for the full experience — how the salon smells, how clean the floors are, how welcoming the vibe feels. And let’s be real… sometimes we fall short.

This isn’t a dig. It’s something I’ve had to learn the hard way too. I’ve seen it as a groomer and I see it now as a business owner responsible for a whole team.

If we want to grow, we have to align our expectations with our actions. That means showing up with intention, keeping our workspace spotless, treating every client like gold — not just with our scissors, but with our attitude, our hygiene, and our pride in what we do.

We can’t ask for high-level clients while keeping low-level habits.

Let’s raise the standard — for ourselves, our teammates, and the pets we care for every day. 💛🐾
