HAPPY TAILS UPDATE: INDY (FORMERLY PATRICK)! 🐾❤️

There is nothing quite like the feeling of a house becoming a home again, and sweet Indy has filled his new apartment with so much joy!

Here is what his wonderful adopter had to share about their journey together:

"Indy is adjusting to his new home & owner and we have become fast friends! He is such a funny cat and loves to look out my sliding glass door at the squirrels, birds, and rabbits. He likes to sit in my lap, and he really likes having his neck & back scratched.

I had a tough 2025 involving the deaths of my 14-year-old dog & 13-year-old cat and a move on my part. But it was too quiet around the apartment so I needed another living being here... since I also hurt my knee last year, a dog would require too much activity. So I decided I needed a cat! And so far, Indy has been the perfect choice. He is lots of company at night! Indy is a fun, little guy."

After navigating such a hard year of loss and change, we are so honored that LAWS could help connect this lovely adopter with her new best friend. Indy found his perfect lap, his favorite scratching spots, and a front-row seat to the best backyard wildlife channel around! 🐿️🐦

PUPPY SCHOOL IN SESSION - FOSTERS NEEDED!!!🎓🐶

It’s school time for our "Marvelous Mystery Mix" group of six pups, including Lola, Sage, and Yarrow! Shaping adorable pups into a great canine citizen is about as rewarding as it gets.

Now that these happy, social pups are getting older, it's critical for their development to branch out from their sibling "pack" and get their very own individual foster homes!

MEET THE STUDENTS
Lola, Sage, and Yarrow range from a bit shy to super confident, but they all love the company of other dogs and are eager to learn. They will need a dedicated human to help them with potty training, basic manners, and positive life skills. As for their breed... your guess is as good as ours!

SUPERHERO TOUGH'S BIG MEDICAL UPDATE *AUGUST*

We get inquiries about our sweet, blind, and deaf pup Tough - including folks asking if he’s actually real! We are thrilled to confirm that he is real - real adorable, and currently living his absolute best life in a dedicated long-term foster home.

Despite his blindness and hearing impairment, Tough has adapted remarkably well. He maintains a wonderful appetite, stays bright and interactive, and enjoys a great quality of life every single day.

His Latest Medical Wins & Next Steps:

Desmopressin Success: Tough recently saw the Internal Medicine specialists at the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital to address his congenital abnormalities. They started him on desmopressin for central diabetes insipidus, and the response has been incredibly encouraging! His excessive drinking and urination have resolved, his urine concentration is improving, and his blood sodium levels are on the mend.

Investigating His Endocrine System: His MRI showed an underdeveloped pituitary gland--so undeveloped it’s not visibly there. That was unexpected, but explains a lot, including why he’s so small! That's good news, because that means hormone therapy could help him going forward.

Mapping His Long-Term Care: Continued monitoring and completing these recommended evaluations will be key to establishing his long-term care plan so any future adoptive family knows exactly what to expect. While we are holding off on making him available for adoption until we fully map out his medical needs, Tough is thriving! His foster family gives us the sweetest updates:

"He loves to snuggle and give kisses. He adventures quite a lot outside! He is super brave."

Tough is a "forever puppy" in many ways, but his resilience, bravery, and sweet spirit inspire everyone around him. Thank you all for loving and supporting our special boy. CRIME MOST FOWL AT THE ADOPTION CENTER 🕵️‍♂️🔍

A crime has been committed in the hall of LAWS. The evidence? A bag of birdseed broken into and scattered across the floor.

The suspects have been rounded up, and we need YOU, the jury, to help us crack the case!

THE SUSPECTS:

Miss Maple
The Profile: A high-energy Houdini, she cannot be contained by any fence, door, or gate devised by man. She literally wears a Batman-like mask over her eyes... clearly, this masked bandit cannot be trusted.
Motive: Pure thrill-seeking and chaos.

Scotty

The Profile: "Innocent" Scotty. The quiet one. The one no one would ever suspect... which makes him the most suspicious of all! Scotty is currently on a strict, sensitive-stomach diet.
Motive: Did his cravings drive him to a life of crime? Was birdseed the forbidden fruit?

Persimmon

The Profile: A tall, sleek, orange cat. Need we say more? He possesses the most mischievous of all feline coat colors.
The Smoking Gun: His catio happens to be located closest to the scene of the crime. Opportunity is knocking!
