Wyoming is known as the “Cowboy State,” so it should come as no surprise that the American Quarter Horse is so popular in a place with such a rich Western heritage. Wyoming is home to more than 67,000 Quarter Horses, and while that number doesn’t quite rival states like Texas or California, it’s especially impressive when you consider that the Cowboy State has fewer people than any of the other 49 states.
