I’ve been keeping a little secret 🙈🤷🏻♀️ I decided for once I am going to spoil myself and got myself a little Christmas present. He was too special to pass up and I would have hated myself forever. He is on his way from Colorado as we speak, and I could not wait to share the news. Everyone, meet Arion!
Arion is an 2023 Buskskin Pearl (previously known as Perlino before they updated everything in 2020) Warlander c**t and the newest future superstar of Transitions Equestrian Center. He’s been genetically tested for the cream, black, and red genes, and his striking appearance is only the beginning of what makes him so unique.
The name Arion holds powerful meaning. It may be connected to Greek words for strength, superiority, or value and can also mean “stouter” or “braver.” In Greek mythology, Arion was an immortal, gold-eating, talking horse mounted by the gods’ messenger and renowned as the fastest of all. His name embodies longevity, excellence, and performance.
Arion’s pedigree is just as remarkable. His sire, Apollo Del Solis, is a extremely rare Bay Double Pearl PRE Andalusian stallion with a metallic gold coat and dark green eyes. Apollo De Solos is lovingly known as “the horse of a different color”. Apollo was the 2021 limited edition Breyer horse model and a multi-national and world champion. He carries the recessive Pearl gene, which creates stunning metallic shades when paired with another Pearl or cream gene.
Arion’s lineage does not stop there. His grandsire is none other than Keegan owned and loved by Emily J Jewell. Keegan is a legendary Friesian stallion I know quite well. He has performed with us at a numerous amount of expos, including at the BreyerFest in 2016. His impressive resume includes parades, expos, shows, and even appearances in calendars, book covers, and magazines. Keegan has proven himself not only as a versatile stallion but as a sire who passes on his beauty, trainability, and athleticism to his offspring.
Thank you Dale Pitcock for braving this weather and going to pick up Arion and his mom Evi from Colorado. It really really means a lot to us.
A huge thank you to Arions breeder/previous owner Karen Nicholson Osborne and to his trainer Gina Marie for setting me up with my new BFF and partner in crime! I am so excited for Arion’s future and the adventures ahead. Stay tuned—this c**t is destined for greatness!
