We provide animal control services for all unincorporated areas of La Porte County and we also operate the county animal shelter. We enforce municipal ordinances and laws governing animal control and protection and we provide a safe and caring environment for animals in need.

Zeus is a good boy in search of his forever home🥹. This noisy shelter is stressful for him and he can’t relax🥲

He can however have fun outside in the fresh air with a ball to run around with.

Zeus is approx 4 years old neutered and seemingly somewhat stoic. The real Zeus personality is likely not going to be revealed in the shelter environment.

He knows some manners and is likely housebroken. He is built like a TANK!

Sadly, he came to us as a stray so we don’t have any history on him. For that reason, we can not say whether he will get along with children, other dogs or cats.

Kitten season isn’t over yet as we keep getting reminded. These three plus three more supposedly on the way, brings us up to a grand total of 38 in foster homes.

🩶Taki🩶 is a gorgeous little girl who is kinda like your nosey neighbor. She’s not shy and sometimes a little crabby, but always up for attention. She’s also really ready to be done with not having the freedoms of a home of her own.

She’s a small cat, with gorgeous gray tabby long hair.

She’s spayed, approx 1-1 1/2 years old.

She’ll tolerate other cats, or at least the ones we’ve exposed her to, but also not afraid to pick fights if she’s feeling spicey. Not sure about dogs, but she is a pretty confident little thing.

He may well have some mobility issues to go along with his cute little squirrel tail.
It’s hard to say if he was born this way or if he had some sort of a spinal injury as a kitten , regardless, he’s a special, sweet and handsome cat that deserves to know what it feels like to be wanted and loved🥹
