We breed small animals in-store to ensure healthy, well-socialized pets, and we run a rehoming program to help animals find loving homes. You’ll find gerbils, guinea pigs, ferrets, degus, hamsters, rats, and more. Our reptile section features a wide variety of snakes, lizards, invertebrates, and other unique species. We prioritize proper care and education, so you can confidently care for your new pet long after you leave the store. While we don’t sell cats or dogs, we carry everything you need to spoil your furry friends. We’re also proud to partner with our neighbor, Constellation Cat Cafe, which re-homes rescue cats from Saved by Zade. Come explore our departments and make Preuss Pets your next stop!

Join yoga instructor Kirbay Preuss and barre instructor Hannah Burleson for an all levels yoga class in the beautiful Preuss Pets water garden center on August 23rd.

Stay for the animal encounter after! Meet some of our education ambassador animals. Learn about the rescue work Preuss is doing in the community.
Proceeds from this class go to the Malachi rescue fund. Established to re-home and assist reptiles in need through Preuss Pets.

Love is anything but stupid. Love is everything.

Waking up to our community covered in hearts this morning brought me back to when I was a little girl and my mom would fill my room with balloons. To wake up to an energy of love and acceptance. The love others have in this town is a big part of why we moved here. That love deserves to be felt by everyone. May these images far exceed any images of hate. ❤️

Thinking of our friends over at Potter Park Zoo. To work with such amazing animals is such a privilidge and fills the heart.

There is an entire community thinking about Doppsee and hoping for the best possible outcome. Our thoughts and best wishes are with the medical team surrounding Doppsee.

Doppsee Update: Doppsee, our 18-year-old female eastern black rhino, continues to receive care from a team of veterinarians led by the zoo's Director of Animal Health Dr. Ronan Eustace after a sudden decline in her health occurred early this week. Today the team conducted an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy examination with Doppsee under sedation and they found an obstruction. Doppsee is resting in her barn and treatment has been initiated for this condition. She will continue to be monitored 24-7. Please keep Doppsee and the zoo team in your thoughts.
