Some deer survive to get this big. This buck had a 23 inch neck at the smallest point behind the ears. You can see the size comparison in picture with the two forms. The other form is a typical buck with an average 17 inch neck.
It's mounted on a Ben Mears full sneak form.

You spend your hard-earned money getting your trophy buck mounted after all the time and effort put into the woods hunting for it, scouting, hanging stands, etc. You take time away from your family, time off work, you put miles on your truck while your body runs on Little Debbie snack cakes and no sleep. Be sure to do your homework before you drop that buck off to any taxidermist, even me. Because picking up your mount at the taxidermist and having it look horrible or like some sub species of deer that hasn't been discovered yet has gotta suck! You're gonna have that deer for life hanging on your wall reminding you.

Here are some recent mounts.
