🌿 2025 HOPE Multiple Sclerosis Ride 🌿

Tuesday, September 10 | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: HOPE Therapeutic Riding Center, Langley fair grounds

We’re excited to open a few LOCAL spots for this year’s Catherine Cesero MS Memorial Ride, hosted in partnership with the Swedish Hospital Adventure Program.

This special event is designed just for individuals living with MS, with safety, rest, and support at the heart of the experience.

🐴 What’s Included in Your Adventure:

Each participant will enjoy two hands-on sessions:

1. Riding Session
A gentle, adaptive riding experience guided by a certified Instructor of Riders with Disabilities. You'll groom, tack, mount, and ride—focusing on balance, communication, and movement.

2. Connecting with Horses Session
Led by an Equine BodyWorker and Master Life Coach - this session explores body language, emotional bonding, and the deep sensory benefits of working with horses on the ground.

💚 Why It Matters

This day is built around your comfort and ability level.
Benefits for MS participants include:
✔ Improved balance, core strength & coordination

We monitor fatigue and stress throughout the day and offer a quiet room for rest and snacks anytime.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight of the Week: Teen Volunteers Edition! 🌟

This week’s spotlight is a little different as we want to send a HUGE thank you to all of our incredible teen volunteers who made this summer so special! As the school year kicks off, we’ll definitely miss seeing their smiling faces around the barn.

A big shout-out to Owen, Caela and Parker, who truly went above and beyond this summer. From helping out at our Girl Scout camp to working with our new horses, they’ve been essential in testing and training our horses to prepare them for the fun games we play with our youngest riders.

These young volunteers didn’t just lead horses—they groomed, cleaned stalls, and contributed to every aspect of the program with dedication and enthusiasm. Our program wouldn’t be what it is without their hard work!

Owen, Caela and Parker, we wish you all the best this fall as you return to school. We can't wait to see you again next summer!

Thank you for making a difference! 🐴💫

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Marta 🌟
This week, we’re celebrating someone who wears many hats at HOPE—our amazing volunteer and President, Marta Berry!
For over 2 decades Marta has been a cornerstone of our program. From hauling horses all across South Whidbey in the HOPE truck and trailer to supporting our riders and program in countless ways, her dedication is unmatched. 🚛🐴
Marta, we are endlessly grateful for your time, heart, and leadership. Hope simply wouldn’t be the same without you. 💛
And a special thank you for generously sharing your horse Kaz with our lesson program—your support truly makes a difference every single day!

🎉 Welcome back, Bethany! 🎉
We’re thrilled to have instructor Bethany back with us after her time in Hawaii—and just in time to celebrate her birthday! 🥳
What better way to mark the occasion than spending the day with her fellow HOPE instructors? Bethany, your warmth, energy, and dedication make HOPE (and the world!) a better place.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Jan! 🌟
Say hello to our amazing Volunteer Coordinator, Jan Denser Evers !

Jan keeps our program running smoothly by making sure every rider has a coach and no volunteer spot is left unfilled. She’s the friendly face behind volunteer training, always ready to answer questions, send a quick text, or jump in to help wherever needed.

And did we mention she’s also our in-house IT genius? Whether it’s organizing schedules or troubleshooting tech issues, Jan does it all—with a smile!

We are so grateful for Jan’s dedication, flexibility, and heart. She brings so much to the Hope family, and we’re lucky to have her on our team. 💙

Thank you, Jan, for all that you
