A huge thank you to the incredible students from Academy of the Winds for spending time with us and our wonderful animals! 🐾💛

They gave our pets so much love — pets, treats, attention — and even took the time to get to know their personalities and create beautifully written and drawn bios for them. We’re so grateful for their kindness and creativity!

Today, we’re excited to share their bio of sweet Annie Earsley, who is still waiting for her forever home. This lovable girl has been overlooked for far too long. She’s a total sweetheart, a fetch enthusiast, and a true love bug. 🐶💕

Annie is currently in a foster home, but if you’d like to meet her, just let us know — we’ll happily set up a time for you to spend some time with this amazing girl.

Athena, Sheridan, Cody, Gillette, Milky, Okra, and Coleslaw all came into our care—cats from just a few weeks to a few years old. And wonderfully, all have found homes except for our charming brothers, Gillette and Cody, who are still waiting for their new families to come along.

Clayton didn’t lose his home because of anything he did. His family loved him dearly—but when their landlord banned pit bulls, this gentle, kid, dog, cat, people-loving dog was suddenly no longer allowed to live there.

He came to LPC confused and heartbroken, and his arthritis and food allergies made finding a new home even trickier. We even tried partnering with another shelter, but Clayton eventually came back to us—because he was still waiting for the family meant for him.

And they finally came.

Today, Clayton is enjoying life in a loving home that embraces and cherishes him for exactly who he is, breed and all.

Phinneas’ Story — and the Heart of Giving Tuesday

Phinneas was a familiar face around town—so familiar, in fact, that he became a frequent flyer with the Lander Police Department. Not because he was naughty, but because he was lonely. His family loved him deeply, but with a single mom expecting another baby, they simply couldn’t keep up with the needs of this incredibly social, energetic boy.

So Phinneas made his own plans. He learned how to slip out of the yard and take himself on little adventures—usually ending up at the Scream Shack, hoping for a treat and a friendly hello. Each time, he would be impounded for his safety, and each time it became clearer: Phinneas needed more than his family could give him, despite their deep love for him.

With love and honesty, they made the difficult decision to surrender him to Lander Pet Connection so he could find a family that matched his spirit.

And he did.

Today, Phinneas is living his dream life with a new family who adores him. He gets the exercise, structure, companionship, and joy he longed for. No more wandering. No more lonely trips to the Scream Shack. Just a boy who finally landed exactly where he belongs.
