We have a heart breaking update on Monti, the sweet puppy who was left alone in a dumpster.
When we brought Monti in, he sounded absolutely terrible. He was taken to the vet where they prescribed him antibiotics, although he was very sick the prognosis seemed to be quite good.
Last night after a day of playing and being his sweet puppy self, Monti’s condition took an extreme turn. One of our staffers noticed he was not acting like himself and he was rushed to the ER. Monti had pneumonia, and his lungs were quickly filling with fluid. He was put on oxygen and we agreed for him to be hospitalized until his condition improved. Unfortunately at around 1 am last night we got the call that Monti was losing the fight against fate. The ER vets did absolutely everything they could to stabilize him , but his body was so small.
We still don’t know who left him out there alone in the cold to suffer in the trash, but we do know that his passing is on their hands. Monti is a perfect example of how animal abandonment does nothing but cause heart break. If you see something , say something. We are so sorry Monti. We did eveything we could, and you were SO loved. 🐾🌈
