🐾 Will you donate to help us rescue more pugs like Hope?

🐾 This sweet girl was rescued after being abandoned in the woods for 16 months. She was afraid of everything the first few days, but with love and patience from her foster family and reassurance from the resident pugs, hope began to settle in.

We noticed right away that she was not well. After medical evaluations, it was determined that Hope had pyometra (a serious and life-threatening infection of the uterus). Her rescue timing was a true blessing. ❤️

💌 Letters from home!

"Olive’s been settling in splendidly in the past month-ish he’s been with us. He does great on walks and in the car, he hasn’t been aggressive with other dogs (unless he’s reacting to another dog getting up in his face, which is understandable!), and while we do keep potty pads in the apartment for him to use, he does his business on walks significantly more frequently than when we first adopted him. He enjoys playing with his toys, napping on every soft surface available, and getting belly rubs galore!

"Olive’s adoption story: We knew we wanted to rescue a pug, so we applied to be on the approved adopters list, and got in the habit of checking MAPR’s website for available dogs pretty much every morning. Olive popped up one day in August, and he was all of the things we were looking for! We had a great phone call with his foster mom, who was super sweet and forthcoming about his personality and behavior, and decided to visit for a meet-and-greet … but have the adoption papers ready, just in case! A good thing, too, because we took Olive home that day, and he’s made our home more lively and full of snuggles (and mischief, let’s be real) ever since."

📣 Meet Chibi, a 9-year-old Boston Terrier/Pug mix (Bugg)!

She was surrendered by her previous owner because of her strong hunting and chasing instincts, so she needs a home with no small animals (bunnies, ducks, chickens, etc.). She gets along well with cats and other dogs when they are off-leash. Her foster mom is working on her leash reactivity.

Otherwise, she’s a very sweet girl who loves pets, belly rubs, and a fenced yard where she can play with her dog friends. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, current on flea and tick prevention, and recently had her teeth cleaned.

📣Introducing Maui, an approximately 3 year old (we’ll call him a fashionable designer pug) that MAPR sprung from the shelter. Maui went from living the street life to living the good life like a business executive who just traded his messenger bag for island life. Maui enjoys all the finer things like sunbathing on the screened in porch at his foster home, sleeping in the king sized bed with his foster parents, and regular meal times.

🐕 He gets along with all his 4-legged foster siblings from the 90 lb German Shepherd to the 16 lb chug in his foster home. He also gets along well with children. He would love at least one other doggie playmate in his new home.

🐶 Maui still has a lot of puppy left in him. He will always choose the Birkenstock shoes or expensive home tabletop decor to chew on over the overflowing basket of dog toys. He will remove the stuffing from all the fluffy dog beds and give you a look that makes you feel like he did you a favor. But he also loves to snuggle and is a true velcro pug, never leaving his foster mom alone to get kidnapped in the bathroom.

💪 Maui has done amazing with house training. He will pretty much do all his business outdoors as long as you go out with him.

Maui has been neutered, is up to date on immunizations, and is heartworm negative. He is all ready for his new forever family and they will be one lucky family to welcome the sweetest boy!
