🐾 We’re Back & Now Booking Again 🐾

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share that Obsessions Dog Grooming is officially open for appointments again as I move into week 7 of recovery from major surgery. I’ve truly missed your pups and can’t wait to get back to doing what I love!

To help ease back into the grooming schedule, my husband will be assisting me with larger dogs, so we’re adjusting appointment times a bit:

Smaller dogs (0–40 lbs):
• Booked on weekday mornings/early afternoons or weekends

Larger dogs (41+ lbs):
• Booked evenings or weekends only, with help from my husband

💲 Current Base Pricing
All packages include: bath, blow dry, brush-out, nail trim, ear cleaning, and external a**l gland expression (if needed).
Nail trims alone start at $13.

Small/Medium Dogs (0–40 lbs)
• Deshed/Trim-Up Package: $40
• Full Groom Package: $60

Large Dogs (41–70 lbs)
• Deshed/Trim-Up Package: $50
• Full Groom Package: $70

XLarge Dogs (71–100+ lbs)
• Deshed/Trim-Up Package: $65
• Full Groom Package: $85

📌 Please note: These are BASE PRICES. Prices may increase depending on coat condition (matting, fleas), temperament during the groom, or overall weight.

📣 I’ll also begin implementing updated pricing in 2026 to reflect the rising costs of supplies, shop upkeep, and my long-term health needs.

🩺 A Personal Update
This summer I traveled to California for a complex surgery with a world-renowned specialist due to long-term complications from endometriosis and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Here’s what they discovered. Adhesions. Fibrosis. Scar tissue. These weren’t isolated. They extended through my lower, middle, and upper abdomen. Tethering organs together, twisting my intestines, trapping fluid around my liver and ovaries, pulling both ovaries out of place, and even wrapping around a major blood vessel. Dr. Nezhat repaired hernias, removed abnormal tissue, and used advanced techniques to protect my kidneys, bladder, and nerves. In total, 17 specimens were sent to pathology.

This surgery brought me relief I never thought possible, and the most important thing, futher validation. Every symptom I lived with had a cause. My pain was real. My story was real. And now, I have proof.

Hi friends, I wanted to share an update and thank you all for your patience while I’ve been away.

Earlier this week I had surgery, and the doctors ended up doing quite a bit of work. They removed ovarian cysts, cleared out a lot of abnormal scar tissue that had been wrapping around my organs all the way up to my liver, and also removed my appendix. I’m only 3 days post-op right now, so I’m taking things slow and focusing on healing.

My goal is to start taking on a few appointments by mid to late September, before I have a second surgery later this year. I’ll keep posting updates here so you’ll know when booking opens up again.

Thank you so much for all the kind messages and support. I miss seeing you and your pups, and I can’t wait to get back to pampering them again soon!

🐾 Surgery & Recovery Update 🐾

Hi everyone! I wanted to take a moment to share something personal and important. I’ll be undergoing a major surgery this week in California with a specialist trained in advanced endometriosis care. This will be my third surgery for endometriosis and my eighth major surgical intervention overall since 2018, due to complex complications connected to both endometriosis and a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. These overlapping conditions have made daily life and physical work incredibly difficult, and after years of fighting through the pain, I’ve had to travel across the country for a surgical team with the expertise needed to give me the best chance at any real relief.

Recovery won’t be easy, and I’ll need to take time to fully rest and heal.

Right now, the plan is to be off from grooming until at least the end of October. If recovery allows, I hope to do some light grooming before my second surgery for other complications, which will happen locally later this year. But I want to be clear this isn’t a guarantee. It will truly depend on how extensive the surgery is this week and how my body responds to recovery.

The Fairfield County Dog Adoption Center & Shelter is at full capacity, and we urgently need the community's support to find loving homes for our amazing dogs. Every kennel is full, and while we remain committed to providing care and safety for each dog, we can only continue doing that with your help.
