Miss Lilly was a tough nut. The first time I went to see her it took over an hour of sitting in the same room, not making eye contact, and occasionally offering treats before I could get close enough to slip a leash over her head. Now she comes running, will take treats out of my hand, and even sometimes will demand ear skritches. I love all the pets I take care of but there’s something extra special about the pets that make you work for it.
