My name is Mike Cour with Cour’s Pointers. I have not and do not train dogs for the public. I decided to maintain my amateur status for field trialing. I train pointing dogs looking for that elusive Field Trial Champion. I will explain my programs and introduce you to my my prospects and let you see their progress. You will see my programs ranging from developing young puppies through either a finished field trial dog or an upland game bird pointing dog.
I will have dogs for sale for 2 reasons; 1- He wont make a field trial dog. Why? He probably doesnt run big enough but there are other reasons too that will be explained. Thats ok, some of the most incredible bird dogs wouldn’t make a firld trial dog, so it works out perfectly for both parties. If you want that all around dog to point upland gamebirds and retrieve your dove and ducks, we will have that too. The 2nd reason i will be selling dogs is i cant keep them all. If a dog is in the field trial prospect for sale category, it’s not a cull. Our home base is a 200 acre ranch in Lampasas, Texas. In the summer we go to North Dakota and chase Hungarian Partridge, Pheasant, Prairie Chicken and Ruffed Grouse. I have been training pointing dogs for 35 years. I’m always looking for that field trial champion but they are few and far between. Follow us to see some incredible bird dogs do some incredible things.
