Welcome, Loki, a 5mo Standard Schnauzer that we're hoping doesn't get bigger than my weight limit 😁 We just had to set the pattern for this first clip, and he was a good boy and pretty chill, until I started the blow dryer 😳 His pet parent was apprehensive about Loki losing his black fur, but was very happy with the outcome. It's such a unique color combination 🤩

Attention Grooming Clients: I had my ankle surgery on February 4, and recovery is going well. I've been able to start adding weight on the foot while in the walking boot, with and without the help of crutches. I'm on target to get back to the grooming schedule this week, but I need to make one scheduling adjustment.

If you have a 9:30am appt scheduled, please plan to make that 10:00am. It's taking me a little longer to get up and get going in the mornings, so that extra time is needed. Also, grooms may take a little longer than usual due to mobility challenges 😄 Confirmation reminders will still go out the day before appointments. Please let me know if this change creates a conflict and I'll try to accommodate.

Enjoyed working on this handsome boy for his first Cut & Strut spa day... bath, brush out, and nails. Happy to welcome Pluto to our little grooming family 🥰 Is it just me, or could this Frenchie/Chihuahua mix be Remy's brother from another mother, lol?

Mabel got her first Cut & Strut groom on Thursday... just a bath, brush out, tidy, and nails, so no before pic. She will be moving away soon, so I'll miss getting to know her better 💖

UPDATE: I have decided to NOT have the shoulder surgery. I'm working on getting everyone back onto their 10wk or less grooming schedule. I'm so thankful for all of you and how you let me know that you'd stay with me, even if it meant going elsewhere in the interim. After meeting with my surgeon last week, it became apparent that the recovery time (after the initial 6wks in a sling) would just be too long, especially considering that I'd be without income for that time.

For now, I'm fine with the changes I've made with using that arm. I look forward to seeing you all again soon 💖

Today, we welcomed Sophia (joining her housemate, Maylie, a Cut & Strut regular) for her first bath and trim. She's very protective of her pet mom, so needs a muzzle for the hand-off, but she soon became a snuggly sweetheart that didn't need the muzzle after her bath (which I could have removed much sooner, but wanted to make sure she understood she was safe). She was very good for her first clip here and even gave me kisses 🥰

Today, we welcomed Everest, a.k.a. Evi, to our grooming family. This was his first groom, as he's barely 1yo, so he got the smoothie clip to tame those wild Terrier hairs 😄 He had to get accustomed to a new person and a new place with lots of new smells and scary sounds. Overall, he did great and is a very good boy 👍🥰 I look forward to watching his progression at future appts.

Summer Grooming Update:
Hello, Grooming Family...I wanted to give you all a heads up regarding my upcoming rotator cuff surgery on August 27 (I have 3 tears).

After surgery, I'll be in a sling and unable to groom for at least 6 weeks. If you're not already on a regular grooming schedule, please consider making an appointment soon to have your pet groomed at least once before then. There are only 10 weeks of available slots left, since the week of August 21 (week before surgery) is already full. Once I'm able to return to work, those of you who have been scheduling ahead at pick-up will get first priority on the schedule.

I don't want to lose any of your business over this time off, but if you decide you need to go elsewhere in the interim, the only other groomer I could recommend is D'Tails in Cheney. I DO NOT recommend the other salon there and I'm not familiar with any of the ones to the west or south of my location. I would be glad to provide your pet's clip information, if needed.

I really appreciate your support of my home-based business and hope that it will continue after this short hiccup. I'm hopeful that grooming will be less uncomfortable after my shoulder problem is corrected.
