Bath grooming time!
In 2022, April 6 , Munchie was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder called Pannus , usually in German Shepherds . ๐Ÿ˜ž his energy has been like a puppy and I noticed he had these cataract looking things in his eyes, but we got them checked by three different different places, and they were not cataracts. The Pasadena eye clinic diagnosed and gave us drops. That definitely helped. Keep the inflammation down. When we stopped putting the drops in his scar tissue started to build up and he could not fetch a ball far away recently we tried out going to Integrative ophthalmology for Pets and heโ€™s back on the Tacrolimus drops and also neomycin and optimmune , which has helped a lot . He regularly eats raw Lamb, and per Mark Ching at the Animal Wellness Center , I put cod oil , and gut biome and intestinal and vision essence supplements in HUs food every day . Also I sometimes put colloidal silver drops in his eyes . His energy is still great and he seems to be seeing better after being on the drops again ! โค๏ธ the vet said itโ€™s because of inbreeding that cockers have problems :(.
Pannus, or Uberreiter disease, is a rapidly spreading, longterm inflammation and swelling of the surface of the cornea in both eyes. The disease begins on the edge of the cornea where the cornea and the white of the eye meet. It eventually spreads from all edges to cover the cornea.
