Ekar Farm connects people to community, and community to the earth. We nourish body, heart, mind and spirit at two sites in Lakewood and Aurora.

We grow sustainably produced fruits and vegetables so that all who are hungry can come and eat. Ekar Farm and Community Gardens is a communal urban farm, inspired by Jewish values. We work to build community, provide experiential and environmental education, and grow sustainably produced fruits and vegetables, expanding access to those in need. From the platform of our urban farm, we apply the pra

ctices of ancient traditions, customs and teachings to engage our community in the solutions to many contemporary issues.

Food is a right, not a privilege.

With proposed cuts to SNAP funding, thousands of Colorado families could lose access to the food they rely on. Across the United States, children make up nearly 39% of all SNAP participants - and here in Denver, 1 in 5 children already face food insecurity.

At Ekar Farm, we see this crisis firsthand. We believe everyone deserves fresh, healthy food - and we are working hard to grow it right here in our community.

If you or someone you know needs food support, here are local resources ready to help:

As our 2025 growing season comes to a close, we want to share that there will be no more events or Days in the Dirt Volunteer Days at our Mountair Park location.

We’re looking ahead with excitement as Ekar Farm will be moving to Shalom Park in 2026! We can’t wait to welcome you to our new farm site and continue to grow food, community, and connection together.
