12/10/25 – Update for Our Woof & Whiskers Community Regarding Farmina

We always want you to feel confident about the foods we bring into the store. Recently, Farmina made several formula changes without advance notice, and because many of you rely on these diets, we want to ensure you have clear, accurate information.

What’s Going On?

Farmina has transitioned some production to their new U.S. facility. Although they maintain that ingredients are still sourced from Italy, the first U.S.-made bags arriving in stores are showing formula changes that were not communicated ahead of time.
Ingredient updates are currently appearing as stickers placed over the original labels. This rollout has caused understandable frustration across independent pet retailers — including us.

Our Standards & How We’re Responding

One of the biggest changes is the addition of wheat to Farmina’s Grain-Inclusive recipes, including both the Tropical and Ancestral Grain lines. Because we do not carry foods with wheat, any Farmina formula containing wheat will be discontinued immediately.

Farmina has also made updates to several of their other recipes, including:
• Dehydrated chicken added to some formulas
• Pork fat and at times dehydrated pork
• Additional ingredient tweaks depending on the formula

These changes may be important if your pet has sensitivities, especially for those relying on chicken-free or pork-free diets. We will continue to review each remaining Farmina product closely. If additional changes fall outside our standards, those formulas will also be removed.

If Your Dog Currently Eats a Discontinued Formula

Please plan ahead — stock is limited and we are no longer placing routine orders for the affected formulas.
However, we are still able to arrange special orders while supplies are available.
Just call us and we’ll set a bag aside for you.

About the Formulas Still on the Shelf

The Pumpkin (grain-free) and Quinoa lines are still available, but many of these also have updated ingredients. Our team can help you review the formulas and determine whether they’re still a good match for your pet.
We will continue keeping a close eye on Farmina as more information becomes available.
