🦁 Who says a spa day can’t be completely stress-free for a cat? Meet our brave patient, Kitty Harris! 🐱✨ "Can't I just take my cat to a regular groomer?" We get this question a lot! While standard grooming salons are wonderful for routine maintenance and tolerate cooperative pets beautifully, intensive cat grooming—especially a full lion cut on an anxious or severely matted kitty—is a completely different story.

In fact, many professional groomers will safely refer highly stressed or pelted cats to a veterinary clinic! Here is why a trip to our clinic is often the safest, kindest choice for your feline friend:
🚫 The Safety Challenge: Feline skin is loose and paper-thin. When severe mats pull tightly against the skin, trying to shave a highly stressed, moving cat at a normal salon poses a high risk for accidental skin tears and intense fear.
🩺 The Medical Advantage: We treat these intensive grooms with the same care as a medical procedure. For Kitty Harris, we performed a routine health check and safety bloodwork first. Then, under safe, continuous anesthesia monitoring by our trained medical staff, we smoothly removed the mats with a sleek lion cut. No panic, no pain—just a peaceful nap and a cool, comfortable wake-up!

Why choose a Lion Cut?
✅ Eliminates painful skin-tugging mats.
✅ Prevents severe hairballs and skin infections.
✅ Keeps long-haired cats cool and comfortable during warmer months.

Give your cat the stress-free reset they deserve. 🦁✨ 📞 Comment "LION" below or send us a DM to learn how our general practice team can help your anxious kitty stay matte-free and comfortable!

Did you know a dog who recovers from Parvo can still pass the virus in their yard for weeks?🤔

Winning the medical fight against Parvovirus at the hospital is an incredible relief, but keeping your home and neighborhood safe is step two. Because Parvo is an incredibly tough virus, standard household cleaners like dish soap or vinegar won't destroy it.

If you are managing a post-illness cleanup or just want to keep your pets safe, we've put together a straightforward, step-by-step guide to sanitizing your living spaces, treating sensitive lawns, and helping your dog's stomach fully heal.

When Donovan the Boston Terrier came to visit us recently, we knew his eye was bothering him, but we needed to see exactly where the trouble was.

In these photos, you can see our team performing a corneal stain test. We apply a harmless yellow dye, turn off the lights, and use a specialized blue light. Any scratch or ulcer on the eye will "fluoresce" (glow) bright green, giving us a perfect map of where the injury is.

Diagnostics like this are a vital part of what we do. They take the guesswork out of treatment and ensure your pet gets the exact care they need to heal quickly. We’re happy to report that Donovan was a total superstar and is already on the mend!

Meet Teddy Radie! Teddy stopped by for a Bordetella visit to make sure he's protected for all his upcoming spring adventures.

May pet parents ask us: Is the "kennel cough" vaccine really necessary? If your dog visits the groomer, enjoys the local dog park, or plans on a staycation at a boarding facility while you're on vacation, the answer is a big YES! Bordetella is highly contagious in social settings, and keeping that protection up-to-date is the best way to ensure your pet stays happy and health while they socialize.

We want to make it as easy as possible for our Lakewood community to stay ahead of these seasonal health needs.

☑️May Special: 15% OFF Exams & Vaccines (excludes urgent care exams)

Have questions about which vaccines are right for your pet's lifestyle? Give us a call or message us here. We're always happy to help!
