Warmest Winter Solstice wishes from our new farm!

After six years on rented land in Lakewood Colorado, we’re thrilled to announce that we are now the proud owners of a fantastic 5-acre farmstead in Western Pennsylvania, about 20 miles outside of Pittsburgh.

We’ve made the move Eastward, and have so much more exciting news and info to share. Please stay tuned right here to hear it in the weeks and months to come.

🐝🍯 Gentle Honeybee Colony & 10-Frame Hive Equipment for Sale: $400 🐝🍯

I captured this colony as a swarm in Spring 2023. They have a very gentle temperament, and this queen lays beautiful, full frames of brood. Latest FormicPro 20-day mite treatment completes on 10/20.
10-frame equipment includes screened bottom board, 2 deeps, 2 shallows, queen excluder, inner cover, telescoping outer cover, entrance reducer and mason jar entrance feeder. At last inspection in late September, hive contained approximately 5 full frames of capped comb, 2 frames of pollen/bee bread, and 4 frames of brood. Most frames are already drawn out with wax.

Hive is located on our urban farm in Lakewood, CO near West Colfax & Kipling.

Denver friends: someone tied this gorgeous Dalmation puppy to our fence & abandoned her last night. No collar or microchip. Vet says she’s 5-6 months old. She’s a real sweetheart, & good with our dogs. We’d like to find a good home for her, and keep her out of the shelter. So please contact us if you have room in your heart and home for this beautiful girl. 🖤🤍🐾

This season we planted 3 new varieties of alliums to help deter aphids. This one is Nabechan, a Japanese green/bunching onion renowned for its sweet, complex flavor and towering 12”-18” height.

🌸❄️🌱 Springtime is in full swing around the farm! Even though it’s white & fluffy outside today, the indoor nursery and greenhouse are going strong. In the field, there’s thousands of seedlings sprouting under the snow, and our first harvest is only about a month away. Welcome to Season 6!
