🌈 Odie crossed the rainbow bridge on Thursday 💔 This guy was the definition of a fighter! He had a rough start to life, followed by several health issues throughout the years that he battled through.
I first met him just over 2 years ago right after he had spinal surgery at 13 years old! You'd think that he would just want to rest and recover, but nope. Not this guy. His family told me about how they were told to have him be on crate rest for a bit, but he just wasn't having it. He healed and was walking sooner than anticipated and went on to have 2 more great years! He was always so excited to go for walks, always trying to fly down the porch stairs 🤣 He also loved to play with his Pooh bear and any other yellow toys. It was adorable!
Sadly, his mobility started declining a few weeks ago and in the final days, it was clear that he was ready to be done fighting and was ready to rest. I got to see Odie 4-5 days a week over those 2 years and also got to be very close with his family. I am forever grateful to have been a small part of his life 🩷 I am also grateful that both Jac and I were able to know it was the end and had the time to sit with him and say goodbye. We told him what a good boy he has been and how much we loved him. While our hearts hurt, I am just imagining him finding his brother Magoo and picturing that happy reunion. We miss you and love you, Odie 🩷
