Ope. I have a quick rant to get off my chest:
Yesterday someone inquired about one of our Crimson Bellied Conure babies and followed up with “wow, ok. Petco had them for cheaper. What’s the difference between Ellen’s Crimson Aviary and Petco?”
Of course I had a field day with this one. I replied:
Petco doesn’t sell crimson bellied conures (at least to my knowledge), probably was a green cheek conure. I’ve been raising birds for 15 years and I’ve never seen a Crimson Bellied Conure at any chain pet store. Also there is a HUGE difference between a bird that’s well bred by someone who cares for and has a deep passion for birds vs a pet store where you have no idea where it came from, how it was raised/parents were treated etc. Check out my website that has helpful info on what all I put into my birds.
I will not and do not just sell my birds to anyone. Birds are a long term commitment that many people do not think about before having the “I want a bird” thought. My favorite (actually least favorite) call to receive is the good ole “do you sell birds that talk?!” A pet bird is much more than that.
Keep in mind: You get what you pay for. With my birds I can promise that you will know what you are getting. I give all my birds (including my breeding pairs) the absolute best possible care I can provide. I truly care about every bird that I breed/raise & sell. I put a lot of time, money & effort into my birds. My prices reflect my hard work and the quality birds that I breed.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk ♥️
