We are a small family farm raising and promoting our homebred Percheron horses at the National and World Levels. We attempt to stay away from the pedigrees more commonly found at sales and show barns around the country, hoping to produce quality outcross horses who are capable of showing and winning at any level and produce the next generation. We must be doing okay, our horses are competing in multiple disciplines and excelling! We are very proud of what we have accomplished and hope to continue to produce attractive, well conformed, well mannered Percheron horses that anyone would be proud to own. Its interesting to look at side by side photos of some of the horses who have lived here at various growth stages.

Some turn out exactly as you expect, some are a little more or a little less exciting. Some need extra time, and others never go through an awkward stage.

These photos are Mirwan Extreme on her way back to the barn after a drive today, and her September of her weanling year.

There were a lot of promising features we noticed in the filly; those things have been realized in the young mare who came home with us last week. We are eager to see how she may continue to grow and mature through the winter and into next year!

Hopefully, in spring, we'll have another photo to add to this lineup and see what we think.

It may not look very exciting, but Frannie has had her first hook singly!

Fran is one of those horses who needs ample time to consider the skill you're offering her. She isn't mean or silly, but she takes her time deciding what you are asking and also if it's something she enjoys. With another horse, we may have tried for a bit longer first trip. With Frannie? She walked, jogged, turned in both directions and halted and stood quietly.

It doesn't get much better than that! Over the coming weeks, we'll refine things a bit more and introduce more trot work- asking for a quicker pace and also teaching her to rate. Baby steps!

Mirwan Extreme out for a quick trip around the field with Tradewinds Wintersweet this afternoon.

We knew Ex would be well broke; Richard does a fantastic job, but we were curious how she would go with Winter. They ought to be a fine team to work gathering sap next spring! And then maybe we'll have a cart horse for show season?

Shoes are pulled, hip numbers removed and first turnout at home has commenced for Mirwan Extreme.

She's in a fantastic spot, as far as her greying! She reminds us so much of her dam when she came home to us as a five year old; it'll be fun to learn what quirks Ex might have in common with her mother. She is the most like Lexie of all the fillies we've had out of her. Time will tell!

Welcome home again!!

You let a guy attend a sale with extra pennies in his pocket... At least she is a familiar face?

We are so happy to welcome Mirwan Extreme home again. Ex is by Mirwan Rita's Rebel and out of one of our favorite ladies- Black Prairie W View's Jet. We had initially planned to attend the Topeka Livestock Auction to cheerlead her sale and congratulate her new family on their addition. And then the sale began... and by the time her number came up, we decided we ought to try to bring her home.

While we are not entirely sure what next year will officially bring, we think there might be room on the trailer for a pretty grey mare to come along to some shows and debut in the cart!🤞🤞

Are there many photos as cute as a foal snuggled into fresh bedding?

Tradewinds Rhu is seen here, demonstrating her cuteness while preparing for her after dinner nap. She needs to recharge so she's ready to boss the boys around again tomorrow during turnout!

Recess!

The four foals are now playing as a group most days. Kisses is still not entirely sure of these friends, but is trying her best to fit in.

Another week and she'll be running this field!

We said it yesterday, but its just as true today - get out and enjoy the sunshine!

Frannie was much more enthusiastic about going out to drive today than her teammate. Winter was ready to hear that magic "Whoa" word... She much prefers being a riding horse, we think.

These three are most often found in a posse. Typically with Bess to supervise them.
Rhu does her best to referee the foolishness of the two boys, but sometimes their rough housing requires a parent to intervene. That's become Bess' job, when they will listen to her, at least.
