Ripp is a 5-6 year old Jack Russel Terrier mix weighing around 28 pounds. He was surrendered to animal control in Brownsville a few months ago. He had a foster/adopter willing to take him and he went north to join him. Unfortunately, he developed an ear infection during the 15 hour transport ride and didn't want to be petted. Of course, that's what everyone that comes up on a new dog wants to do and things didn't go over well during unloading. The best remedy at the time was to keep him on transport for the return trip. His infection is long gone now and even when he returned and was still in pain wasn't that fractious with the people he knew. Still, he remains a dilemma that we don't know what to do with. We're trying to adopt him locally and thus avoiding the transport ride. He's a really nice dog that deserves a good home for the rest of his days. PM me if interested.

Chance is one of 8 adult dogs and 12 puppies that were taken in by animal control in Brownsville. The owner got sick and later passed away leaving all these unaltered dogs to be dealt with. Chance was one of the few HWneg dogs and is probably the baby daddy of many of the puppies. Anyway, he's a nice dog, 2-3 years old and probably a corgi/beagle mix. Teddy is about as cute a dog as you can find. He's thought to be around 3-4 years old. Before you get too excited, he's pretty much unsocialized. He was turned in to the shelter in Brownsville by an owner that had enough of him. He will take food from your hand and tolerate being petted for a few seconds but doesn't want to be picked up and certainly doesn't want to sit in your lap while you binge on Netflicks. He will have to be groomed 3-4 times a year. He is definitely a long haired chihuahua mix. Other than that, he's really no trouble, sort of like a potted plant. He's fine where he is, but he could last another 20 years, which is probably longer than his owner/caretaker will last. Who knows he may even take to a new owner. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Ernestine is an estimated 15 years old. She was picked up by a shelter in northern Mississippi and was taken in by us. She's showing her age, but still has some personality left. She's not a dog for everybody. She's a dog for someone who wants to give an old dog a place to spend the rest of her days in the comfort of a loving home. She's currently eating solid and canned food and spends most of her day sleeping.

Victor is about an 18 month old (as of June 2026) long haired small dog mix (maybe Shetland sheepdog, papillon and shepherd of sorts, best guess) that weighs about 22 pounds. Victor was found in Memphis as a stray with his brother and sister (Charles and Vickie) and taken into a local shelter. The 3 siblings were kenneled together and were very vocal of their disinterest of losing their freedom. They continuously barked as people passed for attention and were ultimately relocated to a back corner kennel and ultimately were overlooked by any visitors. Our rescue heard of them and were able to spring all 3 to get them into a foster home where they could decompress together freely. Victor was shy at first but quickly settled down and became a loving, attentive dog. Victor is more active than Charles, and likes to welcome you awake in the morning to start your day off smiling. Victor is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need patience while adjusting to a new process. We would love for Victor to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play freely, but it is not a requirement. Victor is up to date on his shots now and neutered. Radcliff is about a 2 year old (as of June 2026) whippet / hound / collie (best guess?) small dog mix that weighs 21 pounds. Radcliff was brought into a Memphis animal shelter and after no interest found himself on the dreaded “list”. Our rescue heard of him and were able to find a place for him before it was too late! Radcliff is as gentle and loving as he is petite. Those big blue eyes look at you deeply and tell you he will be a good and loyal pet. Radcliff doesn't bark excessively and doesn't chew up the furniture or shoes that are left lying around. Radcliff gets along well with other dogs and walks pretty well on a leash. Radcliff is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need patience while adjusting to a new process. We would love for Radcliff to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play freely, but it is not a requirement. Radcliff is up to date on his shots and neutered. Lily Bee is about a 2 year old (as of May 2026) Chihuahua mix that weighs about 24 pounds. Lily Bee was at a shelter and not getting any interest so she was marked to euthanize to make room for more. Fortunately we heard about the situation and had a foster find a spot for her. Lily Bee came out of her shelter confinement a happy, friendly girl ready to play and snuggle up to whoever was available. Lily Bee is a very loving dog, good for joining you on the couch or joining you for a walk. Lily Bee is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need patience while learning a new routine. We would love for Lily Bee to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Lily Bee is up to date on her shots and spayed. Delilah is about a 1 year old (as of June 2026) pit mix that weighs about 34 pounds. Delilah was a stray that was picked up in the Memphis area and taken to MAS. When our volunteers were at the shelter to pick up another dog, Delilah stole their hearts; they kept thinking of the engaging, adorable, and puppy-eyed dog in her kennel. We heard she was reaching the end of her time at the shelter and had to step in to pull her into our rescue.
Delilah is described as “such a cute little potato”. Delilah is a super sweet, loving, patient girl! Delilah is a gem in the car and enjoys tagging along for adventures. Delilah attended an adoption event on a college campus and did wonderfully in a large crowd with hustle and bustle. She was happy to get attention and was happy moving from lap to lap of everyone interested in snuggling. Delilah didn’t mind being touched all over her face and moving from place to place around campus. In her foster home, Delilah is fine with the large number of other dogs around and even allowed 3 puppies that had recently lost their mom to adopt her as their surrogate mother of sorts! They follow her everywhere and she dotes on them! We have no doubt that Delilah would make a great family pet! Delilah sleeps beside her foster's bed at night and is very laid back and friendly. We would love for Delilah to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Delilah is up to date on her shots and spayed. Delilah had tested heart worm positive, but has completed treatments and is good as new! Cary is about a 1 year old (as of May 2026) Kelpie / Jack Russel / Cur mix (best guess?) that weighs about 29 pounds. Cary was at a shelter in Tennessee and not getting any interest so he was marked to euthanize to make room for more. Cary is incredibly friendly with both people and dogs. Cary is a bundle of energy as well as a playful puppy. Cary is just the right size and temperament for being a lap buddy or bed buddy as well as a buddy for taking for long walks. Cary is up to date on his shots and is neutered.
