Purple Thistle Farm on the KP -The White Homestead Purple Thistle Farm (our family homestead) is home of Purple Thistle Patch Spring look for seedlings, or garden bedding plants, and flowers and herbal bouquets.

Our family moved to Lakebay in the spring of 2014 to start on the adventure path God placed us on. our family currently has 21 laying hens, 5 young turkeys, and eleven geese (3 adopted this summer after the were abandoned in a local neighborhood)

Currently (subject to change) we have eggs for sale. $4 a dozen. Home of the CrazyChickenLadyKP!

God blessed us with almost 4 flats of strawberries! Some went to the chickens but we still froze 8+ gallons of berries, and a large treat of strawberry short cake.

That means we will be making loads of jam this fall when the weather is cooler so we can heat up the house.

Yum yum.... how do you like to eat strawberries?

Around the Homestead the last few weeks....

We've been busy working on a shed, a chick brooder, canning, and a family reunion thrown into the mix as well.

In this picture you can see salsa (2 quarts and 2 pints, beets (8 pints), and canned beef (5 pints).... not pictured are 14 quarts of grape juice.... we took the time to do some canning when we had a couple cooler days.

We've lost one of our Turkey Posse members as well as a few chickens. It's so hard! We have no clue as to how because there are no to little feathers left behind. No half destroyed carcass, or remains at all. It's like some came and took them. They were there in the morning and early afternoon and then gone at bedtime. 😢

Our Story

Our family moved to Lakebay in the spring of 2014 to start on the adventure path God placed before us. We have 23 chickens, 8 geese, 1 dog, cat, fish, and are considering a couple goats.

The White Homestead consists of Darling Husband, Darling Daughter, and myself, The MOM. This summer is the summer of fixing several broke things, so I will try to update that as we go along.
