Jamaican Dwarf part II. Latest harvest from the Red Dwarf banana. Bananas are thicker than the regular cavendish and shorter. However they are excellent. Great combo of food and beauty!

I don’t see too many articles like this debating the value of comfrey in a perennial food system. Interesting perspective.

Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is considered one of the best dynamic accumulators. Does it have deep roots? Does it provide high levels of nutrients?

The little things. I have been waiting for a few years to see ladybugs join the yard. Finally this summer they have been in the yard. They love aphids and scale. This ladybug likes my ginger!

Never underestimate the power of fruit in your diet. Not only do they taste great, but publications like this show how they nourish and protect our bodies.

This is a 2016 paper published by the Philippine Journal of Science. This shows the counts of flavonoids and phenols in different tropical fruits. A little bit of a deep dive I know, but the proof is in the pudding...

Muscadine grapes! Beautiful on the west side of the yard. Trellis keeps the house cool in the summer.

Jamaican dwarf bananas. Good tasting and VERY ornamental. I highlight it in my yard. The bananas stay red until they are ripe then turn yellow.
