🐾 Dogs change—and their lives change with them.

A puppy’s needs are different from an adolescent dog’s needs. Families move, schedules change, new pets arrive, children visit, and dogs eventually enter their senior years. Training should be able to grow and adapt alongside them.

That is why I created the Forever Program.

When you join, you aren’t simply purchasing training sessions. You’re building an ongoing relationship with one knowledgeable trainer who gets to know you, your dog, your household, and your goals.

Having that consistent support means that when a new behavior or concern appears, you have someone to contact who already understands your dog’s history. If the concern may require veterinary attention, I can help you recognize that it is time to call your veterinarian and prepare useful observations or questions for the appointment. You won’t have to walk in blindly wondering where to begin.

🐾 Dog Training Tip of the Week 🐾

Reward the behavior you want—not the behavior you notice.

Dogs repeat behaviors that work for them. Instead of waiting until your dog jumps, barks, or pulls on the leash to get your attention, look for the moments they’re already making good choices.

✔️ Sitting quietly? Say “Yes!” and reward.
✔️ Looking at you during a walk? Reward.
✔️ Lying calmly on their bed? Reward.
✔️ Walking beside you with a loose leash? Reward.

The more you reinforce calm, polite behavior, the more your dog will choose it on their own.

Remember: Training doesn’t only happen during a lesson. Every interaction with your dog is teaching them something.

Everyone meet my newest training client, Shorty! 🐕🎾

Shorty is learning how to play fetch, and I’d say she’s making pretty good progress. As you can see, she’s incredibly biddable, has a ton of drive, and is more than happy to retrieve over and over again. She loves having a job to do, and she’s always ready for one more throw.

I’m pretty convinced there’s some Australian Cattle Dog on her dad’s side. At this rate, we may have to introduce her to sheep and see if she’s got any natural herding instincts! 😂

One of my favorite parts of training is watching an animal discover that learning is fun. When you build motivation and communication first, amazing things can happen.

A New Adventure Begins for Linda! 🐾❤️

Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart, and Linda is certainly one of them.

When Doris Smith contacted Debbie’s Dog Training, she and her son wanted to give Linda every opportunity to succeed. Together, we focused on more than obedience—we built communication, confidence, and the skills needed to navigate everyday life.

I’m proud to say that Linda successfully completed her Service Dog Foundation Course through Debbie’s Dog Training! Throughout her training, she learned essential foundation skills including focus, self-control, “Leave It,” “Drop It,” the Name Game, Touch, and many of the building blocks that prepare a dog for life as a reliable companion.

Now comes another exciting chapter…

Linda has made it safely to Tennessee! 🇺🇸🐾

Looking at this happy face reminds me why I love teaching dogs and their families. Training isn’t about creating a perfectly obedient dog—it’s about building a relationship based on trust and understanding that lasts a lifetime.
