Mountain View Rocking B Ranch sits amidst the beautiful Adirondack Mountains minutes away from Lake George. It was founded in 1942 by Willis Bennett a charismatic horse legend in his own right. Our parents, Lawrence and Bonnie, in 1989 continued to expand the dude ranch with the help of their children, and grandchildren. We are the only family owned

and operated ranch still in business today, three generations later. These days, Mountain View Rocking B Ranch offers the thrill of horseback riding to thousands of guests each season. We offer the following rides to guests:

Since 1942, our family has called the Lake George region home. Three generations of hard work, gratitude, and a deep connection to the land and the horses that teach us lessons in grit and grace.

This Christmas, we celebrate the stories shared, the laughter that echoes through our homes, and the loved ones gathered close; family, friends, and all who have become part of our circle. Deep winter means thick coats, frozen water, and horses living as close to the wild as it gets. The herd finds shelter among the pines, drinks from pond and stream until the ice will no longer give passage. We break ice, haul hay, and feed grain to our older horses. This life asks for grit, patience, and care but the freedom of living on the land, alongside a strong herd, gives back more than words ever could.

Out here on the hour ride in the fall, we don’t chase meetings, we chase the trail, the crisp air, and the way the aspens catch fire in the late afternoon light. No phones. No noise. Just the steady rhythm of hooves, the scent of pine, and that quiet kind of freedom you can’t fake. Trade office walls for glacier carved views. Trade burnout for saddle time and the crunch of golden leaves underfoot. Because when you’ve spent the afternoon riding through high country painted in October’s best, the only thing that matters is how good that coffee tastes when you finally pull off your boots.

There’s nothing like the crisp air and golden light of fall in the Adirondack forest. The trails are blanketed in a carpet of fiery leaves, with brilliant colors overhead in the canopy. Hooves splash through clear mountain streams as horses take long, refreshing drinks and every ride is an unforgettable journey into nature’s most colorful show.

But don’t wait!!! we close at the end of October, and we’re weekends only until then. Just a few saddles left before we wrap up for the season!

Rolling into Lake George, it feels like the threshold of something wilder. Pines rise tall along the winding roads, and the lake stretches wide and still; like it’s been waiting for you.

This is where the Adirondacks begin. Where the pace slows, the air clears, and life feels a little more grounded. Out here, the days are ruled by the sun and sky, not screens and schedules.

We’re grateful for this land, for the legacy of the West lived out East, and for the families who find their way here; to ride, to rest, and to reconnect.

Out here, nothing competes with steady hoofbeats in the soft light of dawn winding through the forest to the banks of a mountain brook, where breakfast is served. It’s a little taste of ranch life; a morning in the saddle, the scent of pine and leather in the air, and the promise of hot coffee and hearty fare by the babbling water.

To everyone who joined us this year for the Breakfast Ride thank you. Your presence made every ride a little more special, and we loved sharing these mornings with you.
