PET FOOD ALERT: Following up on a case of H5N1 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a cat, testing performed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, state and local public health and agriculture partners, and federal partners suggests a link between the strain of H5N1 virus detected in the cat and in certain lots of RAWR Raw Cat Food Chicken Eats, a product the cat consumed before falling ill.

We hope that your whole family can enjoy celebrating Independence Day today!
- feed and walk your pets early well before dark
- give sedatives/ anxiety meds early and allow your pets to find a quiet, cozy spot if they prefer to hide
- keep their collar with ID on it (if they don’t have a tag you can always write your phone on a piece of painters tape to stick on the collar as a temporary option).
- keep doors, gates and windows shut and remind guests to also.
- prevent your pets from eating bbq food which can cause upset stomachs
- don’t take dogs to firework displays

We are partnering with the yellow brick road project and are donating 15% of all of our sales this coming Saturday.
Yellow brick road project funds research to identify, understand, treat, and ultimately cure those impacted by HNRNPH2 mutations. They support families navigating challenging and scary times, and we want to also help support those families!

We can’t think of a better place for a portion of our sales to go in hopes of making a small difference and raising awareness!

We like giving back to our community! this month we have been involved with the Las Flores K-8 career week and the Capistrano unified high school career fair, as well as sponsoring the Las Flores K8 Bear Bash which helps support students with additional classroom supplies, technology and experiences like field trips.
We also host student interns through the cca.vet.tech program. And summer vet student interns from several international universities.
Dr Barry’s boys are students at Las Flores school and we are proud to support our next generation of students.

RECALL ALERT - Savage Pet of El Cajon, CA is recalling 66 Large Chicken Boxes 84 oz. and 74 Small Chicken Boxes 21 oz. with the lot code/best by date of 11152026 because it has the potential to contain H5N1, also known as bird flu.

🐾 CUTENESS Overload! 🐾
"Dust Bunny" visited us this week and became our newest Wellness Plan member! He had a full exam with Dr. Barry, then enjoyed some tasty Churu treats while his veterinary team tested him for FeLV and FIV, and started his primary vaccine series. Fortunately, Dust Bunny tested negative for those viruses, and didn't even notice that we snuck a couple of vaccines in, as he happily chowed down on tuna Churu.
