June is National Adopt a Cat Month, and we're celebrating every whisker, every purr, and every heart that's been stolen by a rescue cat. 🧡

This sweet 7-year-old found his forever home last Saturday — and he's already living his best life with a whole crew to love. Bunsen is proof that the perfect match is out there waiting for you.

If you've been thinking about adding a feline friend to your family — consider this your sign. Head to your local shelter and say hello. Your Bunsen might be waiting.

Cats experience similar dental issues as dogs, such as periodontal diseases, fractured teeth, and oral growths. Additionally, they commonly suffer from tooth resorption and inflammation.

More than half of cats have tooth resorptions by age 3. Cats experiencing tooth resorption may exhibit signs such as increased salivation, oral bleeding, or challenges with eating. Despite the pain associated with tooth resorption, many affected cats may conceal their discomfort.

Regular dental exams and cleanings are an important part of helping keep your feline friend's teeth healthy. Learn more about what you can do to support your cat’s dental care linked below. https://catfriendly.com/how-to-brush-your-cats-teeth/

We recommend yearly lab work on your pets but what are we actually measuring?

Blood analysis encompasses numerous components that provide valuable insights into your pet's health. These values aid in identifying various conditions, including infections, kidney and liver function, and more. By monitoring these parameters, we can detect potential issues early and take proactive steps to maintain your pet's well-being.

As the seasons change, so do the risks for our furry companions. That's why it's crucial to keep up with year-round flea and tick prevention to ensure your pet stays safe and healthy all year long!

Fleas and ticks aren't just a nuisance—they can pose serious health risks to our pets, including skin irritation, allergic reactions, and the transmission of dangerous diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

What can you do to help your pet fight seasonal allergies? There are steps you can take to help alleviate your pet's allergy symptoms:

-Keep your pet indoors more during peak pollen times
-Wipe your pet's paws and coat after outdoor walks to remove pollen
-Vacuum and dust your home regularly to reduce indoor allergens
-Consider using air purifiers or allergy-friendly bedding for your pet
-Ask us if your pet would benefit from an over-the-counter antihistamine
-Some pets may need prescription medications, if you think that is the case, please call the office to discuss options available to your pet.
